Dallas Theater Center launches its 2013-14 season with A Raisin in the Sun. Tre Garrett of Fort Worth's Jubilee Theatre will make his directorial debut at DTC with this Tony Award-winning play. A Raisin in the Sun begins with a Pay-What-You-Can performance on Friday, September 13 and runs through Sunday, October 27 at the Dee and Charles Wyly Theatre in the AT&T Performing Arts Center.

LETTERS FROM ZORA, written by Gabrielle Pina, directed by Anita Dashielle-Sparks with live music composed by Ron McCurdy is scheduled to play from tonight, August 15 - 18, 2013, with a press opening tonight, August 15 at 8:00 p.m.

Through the dramatization of personal letters, LETTERS FROM ZORA explores Hurston's controversial views on integration, segregation and social justice showcasing a life that was filled with artistic triumphs as well as abject poverty and self-doubt. Veteran actress Vanessa Bell Calloway plays the role of Zora in this provocative multimedia production directed by Anita Dashiell-Sparks and written by novelist Gabrielle Pina. With live music composed by Ron McCurdy and archival images collected by Margie Labadie, LETTERS FROM ZORA will illuminate Hurston's prose, her life, her distinctive array of friends and foes and her unique view of a jazz-age world.

Grammy Award and Stellar Award winning Gospel superstar, songwriter and producer Donald Lawrence kicked off his star-studded live recording in Chicago on Tuesday, June 18th to celebrate 20 successful years in the music industry. Lawrence's live album recording for his much-anticipated 20th anniversary album brought together legendary artists, with outstanding performances from Lawrence and his backing ensemble The Co., CCM star Natalie Grant, the legendary Karen Clark-Sheard, Kierra Sheard, Vanessa Bell Armstrong, Coko (of SWV), DTP Records' soul singer Rudy Currence, Faith Evans, Lalah Hathaway, Kelly Price, Ted & Sheri, Bishop Hezekiah Walker, and a special dance performance from Laurieann Gibson.
