Comedy icon Steve Martin and singer-songwriter Edie Brickell have recorded two albums together and won a Grammy for their American roots music. Now they team up on the new Broadway musical, BRIGHT STAR.

Just announced, Ghostlight Records will release the original cast recording of Bright Star, the new musical from Grammy and Emmy Award winner Steve Martin and Grammy-winning singer-songwriter Edie Brickell.

On last night's TONIGHT SHOW, the cast of the new Broadway musical BRIGHT STAR performed 'Sun's Gonna Shine,' led by Carmen Cusack, who makes her Broadway debut in the show.

Bright Star, the new musical from Grammy and Emmy Award winner Steve Martin and Grammy-winning singer-songwriter Edie Brickell, will make its national television debut tonight on NBC'S "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon."  The appearance will include interviews with Martin and Brickell, as well as a cast performance of the number "Sun's Gonna Shine," which Variety called, "A gorgeous anthem to optimism," led by Carmen Cusack.  (Ms. Cusack's starring role in Bright Star marks her Broadway debut.)  "The Tonight Show" airs on NBC at 11:35 p.m. (10:35 p.m. Central). 

Signal Ensemble Theatre presents the Chicago premiere of The Consultant by Heidi Schreck and directed by Signal Ensemble Theater Co-Artistic Director Ronan Marra at Signal Ensemble Theatre, 1802 W. Berenice Ave., January 21 - February 20, 2016.  After 13 seasons of  presenting, The Consultant marks the final production for Signal Ensemble Theatre. Death is but the next great adventure for Broadway's A GENTLEMAN'S GUIDE TO LOVE AND MURDER. BroadwayWorld learned this evening that the Tony Award-winning Best Musical will play its final performance on the Great White Way on Sunday, January 17, 2016. Producer Joey Parnes announced the news today. The musical's record-breaking run at the Walter Kerr Theatre will have played nearly 1,000 performances on Broadway, and its Tony Award-winning star, Jefferson Mays, will have died more than 6,000 deaths as various members of the illfated D'Ysquith family.

It was announced today that Judy Blazer will join the cast of the Tony Award winning Best Musical, A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder, in the role of Miss Shingle.  She will begin performances on Tuesday, June 30.  Carole Shelley, who currently fills the role, will play her final performance on Sunday, June 28.

The producers of the critically acclaimed Broadway production of David Hare's SKYLIGHT, directed by two-time Tony Award-winner Stephen Daldry and starring Carey Mulligan, Bill Nighy, and Matthew Beard, have announced that the production has recouped its entire capitalization.
