Dorothea 'Polly' Noonan, the real-life central character of Sharr White's new political drama, THE TRUE, was the grandmother of current United States Senator Kirsten Gillibrand.  If times were different, she might have been in the Senate herself, keeping the seat warm for her.

The New Group's THE TRUE Extends Through October 28

Due to demand, The New Group has announced a one-week extension for the world premiere production of Sharr White's The True, with Austin Cauldwell, Edie Falco, Glenn Fitzgerald, Michael McKean, John Pankow, Peter Scolari and Tracy Shayne, directed by Scott Elliott. Originally set to play a limited Off-Broadway engagement through October 21, this production now plays through Sunday, October 28. Previews began September 4 in advance of an Official Opening Night on September 20 at The Pershing Square Signature Center (The Alice Griffin Jewel Box Theatre, 480 West 42nd Street).

As public schools come to a close this week, AMERICAN SCOREBOARD announces a back-to-school repeat performance of The Betsy Devos Confirmation Hearing for The Secretary of Education to take place at Arena Stage in The Mead Center For American Theater, 1101 Sixth Street SW, Washington DC on September 17th, 2018 at 6pm. This will mark the first visit of the educational program to the DC area.
