The Shaw Festival introduces a new annual holiday tradition to Niagara-on-the-Lake: Artistic Director Tim Carroll's fanciful production of Charles Dickens's A Christmas Carol previews November 15, opens November 25 and runs through December 23 at the Royal George Theatre.

At the Annual General Meeting earlier today, Andrew M. Pringle fulfilled his duties as the Shaw Festival's Chair of the Board of Governors. During his remarks, Mr. Pringle passed the torch to Chair Designate Peter Jewett and announced new Board members Ian Joseph, Kevin Patterson and Julian Rance.

The Shaw Festival was saddened to learn of the passing of our Co-Founder, and Founding Board Chair, Mr. Calvin Rand of Buffalo, NY. In 1962, Mr. Rand and Brian Doherty produced four performances each of Bernard Shaw's Don Juan in Hell and Candida staged in the Assembly Room of Niagara-on-the-Lake's historic Court House. In this singular act of passion for theatre, the Shaw Festival was born.
