Random Acts, About Face Youth Theatre and Pride Films & Plays have announced a special 20th Anniversary Reading of THE LARAMIE PROJECT by Moises Kaufman, directed by Jason Gerace. The event, set to feature some of Chicago's best talent, will take place on Sunday, November 4 at 7:30pm at Pride Films and Plays' Broadway space. Tickets are tiered from $5-20 and can be purchased at www.RandomActsChicago.com. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Matthew Shepard Foundation.

Moonlight Youth Theatre Presents DISNEY'S BEAUTY AND THE BEAST

The award-winning Moonlight Youth Theatre invites audiences to be its guest for DISNEY'S BEAUTY AND THE BEAST, the Broadway musical version of the now classic 1991 animated feature film, October 12 - 20 at 7:30 p.m. at Vista's Moonlight Amphitheatre. MYT's annual fully-staged fall musical featuring a cast of nearly 70 will be helmed by Moonlight Stage Productions' Steven Glaudini and Colleen Kollar Smith who are directing and choreographing respectively. Lyndon Pugeda serves as Music Director and Conductor. Tickets range in price $12 - $22 and are on sale now through VisTix at (760) 724-2110 and online at moonlightstage.com.

Rocklin Community Theatre Earns Top Honors With 11 Elly Awards in the Youth Division

Tonight marked a joy-filled celebration of excellence by Sacramento's youth performers at the 36th Annual Elly Awards- Youth Division at the Cosumnes Oaks High School Performing Arts Center in Elk Grove. Named for Eleanor McClatchy, a devoted patron of the arts and former publisher of the Sacramento Bee, the Elly Awards celebrates excellence in Sacramento's local and regional community theater. A grand total of 51 Elly Awards were given to individuals and theaters from across a 10-county region in the Youth Division. Sponsored by the Sacramento Area Regional Theatre Alliance (SARTA), this semi-formal event was attended by over 600 active youth community theatre and high school members plus their families and friends. This year's Elly theme was a playful Elly's Through the Years.

MYO Youth Theatre will present the modern classic NEWSIES September 27-29 in McKinney Texas. Shows will be at the Church Street auditorium located at 306 North Church Street near the downtown square. The MYO production will feature 40 young performers from schools all over the North Collin County area. The show will be led by Frisco senior Eli Nash as Jack, Annelise Best as Katherine, Kai Petersen as Davey, and tiny Andie Miller as Les.
