Winners of the 18th Annual GOLDEN TRAILER AWARDS were announced last night at the Saban Theater in Beverly Hills, CA. The annual awards show honors achievements in motion picture marketing, including film trailers, posters and television advertisements.

Playwrights Foundation, one of the West Coast's premiere launchpads for exceptional emerging playwrights, is thrilled to announce the lineup for the 40th Anniversary Bay Area Playwrights Festival (BAPF), featuring playwrights Hilary Bettis, Clarence Coo, Bennett Fisher, Lauren Gunderson, Nilan Johnson, and Mona Mansour. The 40th Anniversary Bay Area Playwrights Festival runs July 13 - 23, 2017 at Custom Made Theatre, 533 Sutter Street in the heart of San Francisco's Theater District. In addition to twelve staged readings, the Festival will offer a Theater Professionals weekend 7/21-23, special events and an anniversary celebration 7/13. Tickets on sale June 1st at bayareaplaywrightsfestival.org.

National Geographic, Shawn Carter and The Weinstein Company will partner on a new global documentary series, RACE (W.T.), which will give a stark and provocative look into systemic injustices in America. In June, New Conservatory Theatre Center closes its 35th Anniversary celebration and 2016-17 Season with the world premiere of warplay by JC Lee (Luce at Lincoln Center Theater, ABC's How to Get Away with Murder), directed by NCTC Artistic Associate Ben Randle. Inspired by Homer's The Iliad and the epic tale of Achilles and Patroclus, warplay is a shockingly funny, poetic and radical reimagining of one of the oldest love stories in all of Western literature.
