The Players Club of Swarthmore Announces JUNIE B. JONES THE MUSICAL!

Next up on the Second Stage, The Players Club of Swarthmore's Children's Series presents, Junie B. Jones The Musical. A delightful adaptation of four of Barbara Park's best-selling books, Junie B. Jones The Musical, is brought to life in a genuinely comical (and not strictly-for kids) musical. With lyrics by Marcy Heisler and music by Zinia Goldrich, Junie B. Jones The Musical is delightfully entertaining. Meg Cranney is both the director and choreographer and Alyssa Cherewaty is the music director.

In its opening show of the 2019-2020 season, The Players Club of Swarthmore presents Mamma Mia, the ultimate feel- good musical comedy. Mamma Mia is woven around many of ABBA's greatest hits, featuring music and lyrics by Benny Anderson and Bjorn Ulvaeus and book by Catherine Johnson. Mamma Mia is directed by Ryan Goulden with musical direction by Nora McDonnell and choreography by Joanne McBride. Tickets are available online at www.pcstheater.org. Schoolhouse Rock Live!, a pop culture phenomenon takes the stage at The Players Club of Swarthmore's Children's Series Aug. 10-18. Based on the hit Saturday morning cartoon series seen on ABC-TV throughout the '70s, '80s, and '90s, Schoolhouse Rock Live! teaches history, grammar, math, and more to a whole new generation. Academic subjects will never seem boring again when presented through megahits like Conjunction Junction, Just a Bill, Interplanet Janet or Three is a Magic Number. Directed by Jason Boyer, music director is Dan Matarazzo and choreographer is Caitlin Naylor.

Celebration Theatre Will Present Justin Sayre's RAVENSWOOD MANOR

Celebration Theatre, the nation's longest running LGBTQ theatre, will produce Justin Sayre's Ravenswood Manor, A Camp-Horror-Soap-Opera in October 2019, for a six-week run. Directed by Tom DeTrinis and Jessica Hanna, Ravenswood Manor is an episodic theatrical event with a new episode of the ever-unfolding adventure premiering each of the six-week run.

Directed by Dennis Grimaldi, the cast will feature Warren Bub, Peter Evangelista, Armen Garo and Bridget Winder. In its 114 year life the Dutch Treat Club has had a membership that included, Jimmy Cagney, George S. Kaufman, Walter Cronkite, Richard Rodgers, Oscar Hammerstein ll, and Presidents Hoover, Eisenhower, Truman, and Ford. The great Broadway producer George Abbot was a member for 52 years when he died at the age of 107. But enough about the past. This year this historic New York City institution which was founded by and for creative people decided to honor someone young, creative and contemporary, so they chose...Marilyn Maye…an artist for every generation.

YPTW Presents Rodgers And Hammerstein's STATE FAIR

Young People's Theatre Workshop (YPTW) presents the Rodgers and Hammerstein musical State Fair on stage at the Players Club of Swarthmore May 24 to June 2. The State Fair cast includes 60 talented performers, ages 8-18, from the Philadelphia regional area. Show dates are May 24, 25, and June 1 at 7:30 p.m., May 27 at 6 p.m., May 28 and 30 at 7 p.m. and May 26 and June 2 at 2 p.m. Tickets are $15, and all seats are reserved. Nadia Quinn, Josh Sharp, Phillip Taratula Join RAVENSWOOD MANOR

Nathan Lee Graham (Zoolander, "LA to Vegas") Nadia Quinn (Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson), Josh Sharp (Comedy Central's "The Opposition"), and Phillip Taratula ("The Outs") have joined the cast of Justin Sayre's camp-horror-soap-opera Ravenswood Manor at JOE'S PUB on Saturday, April 27 and Sunday, April 28 at 9:30 PM. After premiering at the venue last fall, Ravenswood Manor will be continued with episodes 7 thru 9 on Saturday, and episodes 10 through 12 on Sunday.

Sister Act earned five Tony Award nominations in 2011 including Best Musical Score with music by Alen Menkin (Little Shop of Horrors, Beauty and the Beast, The Little Mermaid) and lyrics by Glen Slater (The Little Mermaid).Sister Act was also nominated for Best Book of a Musical written by Cheri and Bill Steinkellner (Cheers) and Douglas Carter Beane(Xanadu and The Little Dog Laughed).
