On Friday, August 5, the Lakers and Angels lost their biggest fan. Richard Roat, the most supportive friend a person in the entertainment industry could ever have, passed away suddenly. Richard had amassed over 135 acting roles on television, film, and on Broadway.

Pasadena Chorale has announced that it will partner with Los Angeles Children's Chorus and Yale Glee Club for a benefit concert to raise funds for Urban Voices Project, a music community engagement nonprofit and performance choir composed of currently and formerly unhoused artists of Los Angeles. “Together in Song: A Gathering of Choral Music” will take place at the First United Methodist Church in Pasadena, Calif. on Wednesday, May 25 at 7:30 p.m.

Birdland presented singer/songwriter Amanda McBroom in “Crimes of the Heart” on Monday, May 2. Ms. McBroom is perhaps best known for her song, “The Rose,” which was famously recorded by Bette Midler for the film of the same name. But until this concert, McBroom and Midler hadn’t met, even though the extraordinary composition helped change both careers.
