The Lakewood Playhouse is proud to present the Final Showof our 77th Season: The South Sound debut of the Tony Award-Winning Musical celebrating its First Decade on Broadway - AVENUE "Q"!  with Music & Lyrics by Robert Lopez & Jeff Marx and a Book by Jeff Whitty Michael Frayn!  This production will also mark the conclusion of our year-long celebration of the 50th Anniversary of the very building we do all of our Productions in - The Lakewood Playhouse Theatre!  From "Taming of the Shrew" in its first year to "Avenue Q" at the end of this season, we will have presented over 300 Productions at this venue that was first built for us in 1965 by the Lakewood Arts Foundation. Peter Hollens, the one-man a cappella vocalist, video producer, and YouTube star whose popular videos have amassed over 150-plus million views is thrilled to announce his second album release. Available March 18, Misty Mountains: Songs Inspired by The Hobbit and Lord of the Ringswill be available on Portrait Records, an imprint of Sony Music Masterworks. From the Pulitzer and Tony Award-winning composer and lyricist of Fiddler on the Roof comes the perfect holiday confection, SHE LOVES ME, based off a play Miklos Laszlo, which also inspired the Meg Ryan and Tom Hanks romcom You've Got Mail. Performances run December 4-20, 2015 at Seattle Musical Theater. BroadwayWorld has a first look at the cast in action below!

Country a cappella band Home Free comes to Smothers Theatre at Pepperdine University tonight, October 24 at 8 p.m.

Billboard reports that the first clip from the Miles Davis biopic, MILES AHEAD, can be viewed now. The film is set to premiere this weekend at the New York Film Festival.

The famous Long Center Concert Club returns for another season with another year of incredible local and nationally recognized musicians. Intimate and local, the Concert Club features 5 fantastic musical performances ranging from blues to folk and country to jazz, presented in the acoustically splendid Rollins Studio Theatre.

GRAMMY-nominated,*BAFTA-winning composer Austin Wintory created an earthy, multi-layered orchestral score for the single player role-playing tactical game THE BANNER SAGA from Stoic Studios, currently available on PC and Mac. The soundtrack score features the Dallas Winds (America's Premier Windband), recorded by GRAMMY-winning engineer Keith O. Johnson and the Reference Recordings team at the Meyerson Symphony Center in Dallas, TX. In addition the score features a trio of famous YouTube soloists: vocalists Malukah and Peter Hollens, and violinist Taylor Davis. The soundtrack is set for worldwide CD release today, May 13, 2014.
