This afternoon, a capacity crowd of 18,000 New York City public school students made history, along side the Broadway cast of To Kill a Mockingbird. Aaron Sorkin's new play, directed by Bartlett Sher, and based on Harper Lee's classic novel, became the first-ever Broadway play to perform at The World's Most Famous Arena, New York's Madison Square Garden.  With the extraordinary support of James L. Dolan, executive chairman and CEO of The Madison Square Garden Company, this unprecedented, single-performance event was entirely free to students of New York City Department of Education public middle and high schools from all five boroughs.

The record-breaking production Broadway production of Harper Lee's To Kill a Mockingbird welcomes a slew of new cast members in its second year on Broadway!

The complete Broadway cast has been announced for the second year of To Kill a Mockingbird, Aaron Sorkin's new play, directed by Bartlett Sher and based on Harper Lee's classic novel.

Lincoln Center Theater presents Nantucket Sleigh Ride, a new play by John Guare. Nantucket Sleigh Ride, directed by Jerry Zaks, which opened last night, March 18 at the Mitzi E. Newhouse Theater (150 West 65 Street). 

Chester Theatre Company (CTC) presents Stephen Massicotte's two-actor, three-character play, Mary's Wedding, in the historic Chester Town Hall, 15 Middlefield Road in Chester, MA, from July 26 through August 5, 2018.

A few hours after their first production on a Saturday night, Door Shakespeare changes costumes, peotic canons and presents Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet at 8:30 p.m.  Under the velvet moonlght of a Bailey's Harbor sky that naturally resembles the darkness  that dominates much of the Bard's iconic story,  the tragic  play unfolds. A riveting Romeo and Juliet theatergoers will remember when the sun sets the following evening regardless of what they have ever known or seen of this production before.

The National YoungArts Foundation (YoungArts) congratulates the 50th class of U.S. Presidential Scholars, announced today by U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan. The 20 Scholars in the Arts, all 2014 YoungArts Winners, were nominated to The White House Commission on Presidential Scholars by YoungArts, and selected based on academic, civic and artistic achievement. The award, presented on behalf of the President of the United States, is the highest honor that can be bestowed upon an artistically talented graduating high school senior. Each year, up to 141 high school seniors are recognized as U.S. Presidential Scholars for their accomplishments.

After each performance, the actors remain on stage for a brief question-and-answer session, before joining the audience in the Lobby for one-on-one conversations and photo opportunities. This new adaptation by Jeff Award-winning director David H. Bell provides a quality, family-friendly introduction to Shakespeare with special opportunities for audiences to interact with the actors at every performance. In addition to public performances each Saturday, this production will welcome 1,000 students each day to the Theater's home on Navy Pier during its five-week run in the Courtyard Theater, followed by a tour to schools across the Midwest. Short Shakespeare! A Midsummer Night's Dream will be performed for the public Saturdays at 11:00 a.m. from February 22 to March 22 in CST's Courtyard Theater. The Guthrie Theater previously announced additional performances for its production of the 2011 Pulitzer Prize and 2012 Tony Award winner Clybourne Park-a powerhouse contemporary satire about race and gentrification during the past half century in America written by Bruce Norris. The additional performances are today, July 28 at 1:00 p.m. and Sunday, August 4 at 1:00 p.m.
