A handful of intrepid solo performers are presenting live, outdoor pop up performances of their acclaimed solo shows this Fall. These intimate storytelling events are presented using the LiveTours app and performed for an audience of 14 or less.

The Marsh announces the line-up for its first-ever digital global festival, MarshStream International Solo Fest, presenting performers aged 16 to 79 from across the nation and around the world, including Russia, Scotland, Israel, Canada, and Australia, as well as some of The Marsh's fan-favorites in a four day online marathon of 51 global works.

New online platforms have launched just since the beginning of the health crisis, to help those looking to hone their craft continue to do so from home. Many classes are even taught by Broadway professionals. Other institutions have simply shifted their in-person classes to a virtual format, taught over Zoom or an equivalent platform.

The performing arts are one of the hardest hit segments of society since Covid19 ravaged the country. Although indoor performances are still prohibited, some summer arts programs and camps have created virtual versions of their offerings. This is a unique opportunity to study with some of the greatest arts educators in the nation, regardless of where you reside.

In response to popular demand and critical acclaim, The Barrow Group, under the leadership of Co-Artistic Directors Seth Barrish and Lee Brock and Executive Director Robert Serrell, is proud to extend the world premiere of 17 Minutes to March 1, 2020. This spellbinding new play by Scott Organ, which opened on January 22, takes an intimate look at how gun violence reverberates across a community.

Seventeen minutes may not seem like a lot of time, but in the play by Scott Organ it's a lifetime sentence.

Directed by Seth Barrish (Director of Mike Birbiglia's The New One), 17 Minutes is scheduled to run at The Barrow Group Mainstage Theatre (312 West 36th St) from January 10 through February 15 with an opening set for January 22.

Beginning on a basically empty stage with a large center rug and one wooden stool, Birbiglia begins by talking about the first thing he bought as an adult for his first apartment a?' a new couch - and how much he loved sleeping on it. As he gushes about how he loved being wrapped in its warmth, that little stool literally becomes his beloved, overstuffed companion where he reads, writes, eats and sleeps. That is until THE NEW ONE arrives and changes everything!

Mike Birbiglia has already taken on Broadway, now he's turning his story into a book. The comedian will write a memoir version of The New One, the show that closed on Broadway in January, according to Entertainment Weekly.
