Kicking off their 66th theatre season, The Naples Players (TNP) announce the 2019-2020 theatre season. The upcoming season reaffirms The Naples Players' dedication to providing a superior theatre experience for the community with an exciting combination of Tony Award-winning plays and musicals as well as popular beloved classics and exhilarating new works. 'It's a season about strength and sacrifice' said Bryce Alexander, TNP's Executive Artistic Director. 'It's about the sacrifices we make for love, and the strength that comes from finding our community.'

Join the Buck Creek Players as they continue their 45th season of quality theater with MAKING GOD LAUGH, an Indianapolis premiere play by Sean Grennan. Showing at the playhouse, 11150 Southeastern Avenue, for a limited two-weekend run, March 29th through April 7th, curtain times are at 8 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, with 2:30 p.m. matinees on Sundays.

For those of you who have never been to a production by The Florentine Players, you are in for a treat. It's small town dinner theater. The stage is located at the front of a large space filled with long tables in the Florence City Hall off State Street. At the back of the room is a canteen where you can buy popcorn, cookies, or nachos and a variety of other things. There is a beverage bar in the hallway. It's cozy. It's neighborly. And that's what makes this production of MAKING GOD LAUGH so great.

The Florentine Players have come up with a gem. MAKING GOD LAUGH by Sean Grennan plays FEB 22 and FEB 23 at 7:00 pm, and again on Sunday, FEB 24 at 2:00 pm. Thirty years of a family's life covered in three acts with all their flaws and imperfection will make you laugh until the tears take over. Firebrand Theatre is pleased to announce award-winning actress Barbara E. Robertson will star as Anna (Annie) Edson Taylor in its Chicago premiere of QUEEN OF THE MIST featuring book, music and lyrics by Michael John LaChiusa (The Wild Party, Marie Christine) direction by Elizabeth Margolius and music direction by Charlotte Rivard-Hoster. Newly-arranged for an all-femme quintet, QUEEN OF THE MIST will play May 25 - July 6, 2019 at The Den Theatre's Janet Bookspan Theatre, 1331 N. Milwaukee Ave. in Chicago.

There are few places quite like Peninsula Players Theatre. Located on picturesque Green Bay, the historic residential summer theater is both a host to professional talent and a haven for young theater artists on the precipice of their careers. For the interns, this theater's program is a chance to work alongside theater professionals in a living and learning environment. The interns have the opportunity to work alongside members of Actors' Equity Association, the union of professional actors and stage managers; members of United Scenic Artists, the union of scenic, lighting, sound and costume design; and members of the Stage Director and Choreographers Society.

Lookingglass Theatre Company announces an extension of 20,000 Leagues Under the Seas adapted by David Kersnar and Althos Low, from the books by Jules Verne, directed by Ensemble Member David Kersnar. Due to high ticket demand, additional dates, August 30 - September 9, 2018, have been added. 20,000 Leagues Under the Seas plays at Lookingglass Theatre Company, located inside Chicago's historic Water Tower Water Works, 821 N. Michigan Ave. at Pearson. This marks the second and final extension of the production.

Peninsula Players Theatre, America's oldest professional resident summer theater and Door County's theatrical icon, is proud to announce it has received a $15,000 award from The Shubert Foundation. The Shubert Foundation awarded a record total of $26.8 million to 533 not-for-profit performing arts organizations across the United States. The Shubert Foundation provides grants only to organizations that have established artistic and administrative track records, as well as a pattern of fiscal responsibility.  

Peninsula Players Theatre, America's Oldest Professional Resident Summer Theatre and Door County's theatrical icon, opened its 83rd season June 12 with the world premiere of "Now and Then" by Sean Grennan, a new comedy-drama featuring Erica Elam, Sean Fortunato, Barbara Robertson and Greg Vinkler, the Peninsula Players Artistic Director. The cast is under the direction of Tom Mula who directed the world premiere of Grennan's "The Tin Woman" and "Making God Laugh."

Lookingglass Theatre Company concludes its 30th Anniversary season with the world premiere of 20,000 Leagues Under the Seas adapted by David Kersnar and Althos Low, from the books by Jules Verne, directed by Ensemble Member David Kersnar. 20,000 Leagues Under the Seas runs May 23 - August 19, 2018 at Lookingglass Theatre Company, located inside Chicago's historic Water Tower Water Works, 821 N. Michigan Ave. at Pearson. The Press Opening is Saturday, June 2, 2018 at 7:30 p.m.

Peninsula Players Theatre is pleased to announce it was awarded a grant from the Wisconsin Arts Board (WAB) through their WAB's Creation & Presentation program. Funds of the grant will support the Peninsula Players continued development and presentation of outstanding theatrical productions and community programs as the theater prepares for its 83rd season in 2018.

I like going to Boise Little Theater. It's a great space with history. The old carpet. The unique three stages. I like the photo collages of previous shows. I like watching friends shine and new comers surprise us. Although my preferences aren't always in line with the theater's season, the little things that make it an experience can always be found.
