Full Casting Announced for Theatre Royal Drury Lane's OLIVER!

Cameron Mackintosh announces final casting for his new production of Lionel Bart's musical masterpiece 'OLIVER!' starring Rowan Atkinson as 'Fagin', Jodie Prenger as 'Nancy' and Burn Gorman as 'Bill Sikes' at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane. Performances commence on 12 December and the press night is on 14 January.

What's on Stage is reporting that King Lear, starring Pete Postlethwaite, directed by Rupert Goold will be transferring to the West End at the Young Vic Theatre in 2009. The show will begin performances at the Everyman Theatre in Liverpool in early November and is already sold out.

What's on Stage is reporting that actor Ian McDiarmid has fallen unexpectedly ill during curtain call of Monday's opening press performance of 'Six Characters in Search of an Author.' As a result, the Tuesday evening performance was cancelled as was tomorrow's matinee performance. Until further notice Stephen Crane will be taking over McDiarmid's role of the Father.

The Rupert Goold directed production is opening at the Duke of York's Theatre on September 27th, 2008, with press night on October 7th, 2008. A Gate Theatre, Dublin production, No Man's Land will be presented by Sonia Friedman Productions and Michael Colgan, with design by Giles Cadle, lighting by Neil Austin and sound and music by Adam Cork. Goold's production transfers to London following its opening at the Gate Theatre, Dublin in August.
