After over a decade of stage and theater performances across the U.S., Beverly Baker will make her New York stage debut with her new one-woman show, HAG.

Ron Jones is a legend of Houston Theater. He's an actor, he's a director, he's a producer and a fashion icon (the man dresses to impress!). Ron helps run his own theater company, On The Verge and often directs in other places. And we're here today to discuss the upcoming APPROPRIATE, produced by the DIRT DOGS at the MATCH venue.

On May 17th, Nashville-based, platinum recording artist, Ron Pope, released a new single, “I’ve Gotta Change (Or I’m Gonna Die),” via Brooklyn Basement Records. Several years ago, Pope sustained a serious back injury. Unable to work but wary of prescribed pain medication, he chose to white-knuckle his way through the ordeal, relying on other ways to manage the pain. His new song is inspired by that experience. Choosing to perform a Tennessee (Thomas Lanier) Williams (1911-1983) play means genuinely committing to some of theater’s most salient aspects: in this case, a plot that must capture and then hold the audience in unfolding layers of tragedy, characters that are complex and often display less-than-desirable human characteristics, believable delivery of modified language to portray a specific region or temperament, performance of disconcerting and sometimes virulent spectacle on a human scale, and production design that rises to the needs of the story. 

The Paley Center for Media has the esteemed list of honorees for its 2024 Paley Honors. This annual New York gala celebration will salute visionary leaders from across media, entertainment, and business including Michael R. Bloomberg, Ron Howard, and Faiza J. Saeed. This illustrious event will take place on Thursday, June 13 at 6:30 pm at Cipriani 42nd Street.

Gulfshore Playhouse has announced a large boost to its Next Stage Capital Campaign with an additional contribution, a $1 million matching gift from Glenda and Rich Struthers.

Released in theatres on July 9, 2004, ANCHORMAN: THE LEGEND OF RON BURGUNDY marked the feature directorial debut of Adam McKay and was written by McKay and Will Ferrell, who stars as the titular, mustachioed hero.  The film features a veritable pantheon of comedic talent, including Christina Applegate, Paul Rudd, Steve Carell, David Koechner, and Fred Willard, along with a cavalcade of cameos. See the bonus content for the release here!
