Experience a journey through Jewish musical history and trivia during the multimedia program, From Vaudeville to Rock: How Jewish Songwriters and Performers Shaped Popular Music.  The event will be presented on Sunday, January 6 at 2:00 pm in the Maxine and Robert Seller Theatre, JCC Benderson Family Building, 2640 N. The Jewish Repertory Theatre has announced its 2018/19 Sweet Sixteen Season.

The Jewish Community Center of Greater Buffalo will report on achievements, upcoming plans for facility and program enhancements, and will feature guest presentations from JCC members, at its Annual Meeting, to be held Thursday, June 28, 7 pm in the Maxine and Robert Seller Theatre/Rochwager Auditorium, at the JCC Benderson Family Building, located at 2640 North Forest Road, Getzville, NY. The meeting will also feature the presentation of the Ralph Kushner Volunteer Service Award to Janet Desmon, in honor of her exceptional volunteer contributions to the Jewish Community Center.

The 52nd JCC Book and Arts Fair will showcase authors and presenters from Western New York and beyond, June 4-June 21, 2018.

My Name is Asher Lev, Chaim Potok's moving novel which Aaron Posner has adapted for the stage, tells the story of a gifted young painter torn between his art, the bond he feels with his parents and the Hasidic Jewish tradition in which he was raised. Through this story we see a child expressing independent thinking that just doesn't fit his parent's world view. How many of us have experienced this conflict with loving parents, and understand a conflict that frequently cannot be resolved without anguish for both the parents and child? Our hope is that as Asher Lev narrates his own story that both Jewish and non-Jewish audiences will recognize and be moved by the dilemma facing this family.

This classic comedy opens as a group of men assemble for a card game in the apartment of divorced Oscar Madison. Late to arrive is Felix Unger who has just separated from his wife. Depressed and tense, Felix seems almost suicidal. As the action unfolds, the clean-freak and the slob ultimately decide to room together, with hilarious results.
