During a historic ceremony, Barter Theatre named its main stage in honor of two couples, Marvin and Marcia Gilliam and Richard and Leslie Gilliam. Never before in the state theatre's 83-year history has the stage been dedicated to any individual or organization, making this momentous occasion truly unique.

Barter Youth Academy, one of Barter Theatre's four education programs, expands operations this month to include two new locations and additional classes.

Long before there was Stephen King, Ray Bradbury was crafting imaginative stories of fantasy and fright masterfully intertwined with family-friendly morals. Now, Bradbury's famous tale, “Something Wicked This Way Comes” opens at Barter Theatre September 16.

Barter Theatre presents "A Night with Janis Joplin" beginning August 18 through September 10.

Barter Theatre, which was founded on the principle of bartering goods for tickets to a show, continues tradition this summer by allowing patrons to trade canned and dried goods for admission to the theatre.

Honoring Barter's founding tradition that Barter is for everyone, Barter Theatre is excited to announce the new 'Barter Break' ticket: Any seats that are available after 11:00am on the day of a performance at Barter can be purchased at 50% off the regular ticket price. Barter Break tickets must be purchased in-person at Barter's box office on the day of the performance.
