The worlds of opera and film collide as the Canadian Opera Company present a special avant-première screening of Atom Egoyan's Seven Veils at the Four Seasons Centre for the Performing Arts on Friday, September 8 at 7 p.m. 

This Prom showcased the best of the avant garde in contemporary classical music: entertaining, bold, radical and full of drama. The London Philharmonic Orchestra were conducted by Edward Gardner with aplomb and determination, while the three choirs and two soloists left the capacity audience in delighted appreciation.

SALOME comes to Des Moines Metro Opera in 2024. Performances run June 29, July 7, 13, 19. The opera is written by Richard Strauss, Oscar Wilde and Hedwig Lachmann.

As part of its ongoing centennial tribute to Maria Callas, The Greek National Opera presents Callas at the Herodium on September 16, featuring the repertoire the legendary soprano performed at the Odeon of Herodes Atticus in 1944 and 1957.
