Producers Randy Taradash and Martian Entertainment announced plans for a private reading of a newly revised script of bare, the award-winning rock musical that has garnered a worldwide fan base since its 2000 Los Angeles premiere. The reading will take place on November 1 in New York City.

Last night, September 27, the 2010 New York Musical Theatre Festival celebrated its official opening night, hosted by Baz Lurhmann. Some of the many guests on hand to celebrate were Claire Danes ('Romeo + Juliet', 'The Hours'), Anthony Rapp (Rent), Daphne Rubin-Vega (Rent), Tamara Tunie (Law and Order: SVU), Kerry Butler (Xanadu), Liz Larsen (The Most Happy Fella), Liz McCartney (Taboo), Ann Harada (Avenue Q), Tom Hewitt (The Rocky Horror Show), Max Von Essen (Les Miserables), Curtis Holbrook (West Side Story), Chip Zien (Into the Woods), Diedre Goodwin (Chicago), and many more.

NOT THE SAME: the music & lyrics of Bobby Cronin is a one-night only all new concert of ASCAP winning composer/writer Bobby Cronin's music. On Sunday March 28th at the Metropolitan Room, NOT THE SAME will feature many Broadway performers new to Bobby's music and audience, as well as many new songs written for Bobby's numerous projects in the works; THE BEATEN PATH, TIL DEATH DO US PART, CATY BRIDGEWATER, The Untitled Project, and (UN)LUCKY IN LOVE. The night will feature Cronin on the piano heading a four piece band for a night of rockin' uptempos, passionate ballads, comedic tunes, and honest anthems.

Ken Davenport, producer of the off-Broadway staple Altar Boyz, has announced today that the show will play its final performance on January 10, 2010 at 7:30pm at its home, New World Stages after playing 2023 performances. It is the 9th longest running off-Broadway musical in history.

Ken Davenport and Robyn Goodman announced that the cast of Altar Boyz, the acclaimed musical comedy at New World Stages, will perform holiday tunes for the young patients at St Mary's Children's Hospital in Bayside, Queens (NY) on Tuesday December 23rd. Anne Craig of 'Good Day NY' will be on hand to broadcast live.
