The Rubin Museum of Art Builds “THE WISDOM MATRIX” in New Fall Series

This fall at the Rubin Museum of Art, experts from a variety of fields will tackle the difficult concept of wisdom and why it still matters in our era of information overload. Featuring on-stage conversations, as well as immersive experiences and film screenings, "The Wisdom Matrix" will bring together eclectic personalities including actor Mia Farrow, musician Rosanne Cash, humorist and ethics columnist Randy Cohen, actor Steve Buscemi, author and NPR hostKrista Tippett, Zen poet Norman Fisher, comedienne Ilana Glazer, and many more, to explore how the head, heart, and gut each play a role in wise decision-making. The four month series will also invite visitors to personally reflect on their own definitions of wisdom through experiences like Mirror Meditation.

New York Theatre Workshop (NYTW) and FABnyc will co-present a live show with the popular public radio show and podcast Person Place Thing with writer and humorist Randy Cohen, featuring HADESTOWN's celebrated singer-songwriter Anais Mitchell and inventive two-time Obie award-winning director Rachel Chavkin at New York Theatre Workshop (79 E. 4th Street New York, NY 10003) on Monday, June 6 at 7:00 pm. The evening will also include musical interludes from HADESTOWN and a brief audience Q&A. Tickets are $10 and be purchased at www.fabnyc.org.

In a dynamic partnership among arts funders, Funding Arts Broward invited Broward Cultural Division to sponsor them in hosting Americans for the Arts' Vice President of Research and Policy Randy Cohen at the NSU Art Museum Fort Lauderdale. The event became an intimate gathering of Broward arts ambassadors, with a focus on how and why the arts are critical to our community. With a common mission, both FAB! and the Cultural Division and their guests, were inspired as always by Cohen's words on the impact of the arts in our schools, our hospitals, our military and even on our baseball fields!
