Ford's Theatre presents the Washington premiere of the Tony-winning musical drama 'Parade,' directed by Stephen Rayne, September 23 though October 30, 2011. The centerpiece of this year's programming for The Lincoln Legacy Project, Parade is based on the true story of Leo Frank's trial and lynching in early 20th-century Atlanta. Ostracized for his faith and Northern heritage, Jewish factory manager Leo Frank is accused of murdering a teenaged factory girl the day of the annual Confederate Memorial Day parade. Alfred Uhry's award-winning book and Jason Robert Brown's rousing, colorful and haunting score illuminate a circus of conflicting accounts, false testimony and mishandled evidence in a town reeling with social and racial tension. Isolated from the world, Leo develops a new and deeper love for his wife, who tirelessly crusades for his freedom. The Ford's Theatre Society today unveiled a new logo design in preparation for the 2011-2012 theatre season and the February 2012 opening of the Center for Education and Leadership.

'One Destiny' was commissioned by the Ford's Theatre Society to bring the drama and emotion of the American Civil War to life through informative and entertaining theatre. Beginning March 22, the 30-minute play will be offered as part of timed entry to Ford's Theatre and presented in addition to the National Park Service Ranger programs. The Society will offer evening performances of 'One Destiny' from June 8 to June 19. Tickets are required for all performances of 'One Destiny'. Tickets are $6.50 in advance or $5.00 the day of the performance.
