Kathryn Bostic Named Film Scoring Artist in Residence through AMPAS FilmCraft Grant

Kathryn Bostic, a composer, singer-songwriter, pianist and vocalist known for her work in film, TV and live theater, has been named Berklee's 2018-19 Film Scoring Artist in Residence. Bostic is the first female African American film composer to join the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. She is also a member of the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences and Vice President of the Alliance For Women Film Composers. Bostic has composed for films and television shows including Dear White People, American Masters - August Wilson: The Ground on Which I Stand, Middle of Nowhere and Surviving Compton: Dre, Suge & Michel'le, and has written music for several August Wilson plays.

The Harry Potter Film Concert Series returns to Jones Hall with Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire in Concert, the fourth film in the Harry Potter series. On Feb. 1-2, the Houston Symphony will perform the magical score live from Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire while the entire film plays in high-definition on a 40-foot screen.

Domino's Pizza (NYSE:DPZ), the largest pizza company in the world based on global retail sales, crowned Werner Lomker the 2018 World's Fastest Pizza Maker among 9,000 cheering spectators at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas on May 15. Lomker, a franchise owner in Canada, made three large pizzas in an impressive 57 seconds that's equal to making each pizza in roughly 19 seconds! Lomker won $3,000 in prize money, a trophy and the coveted title of World's Fastest Pizza Maker, presented by Domino's President and CEO Patrick Doyle.

The York Symphony Orchestra will present The Magical Music of Harry Potter on Saturday, June 9 at 4 p.m. at the Appell Center for the Performing Arts in York. The performance will allow audiences to experience the magical music from the Harry Potter film series. Single tickets start at $9 for adults and all student tickets are $5.

Just last night, the 2018 Lucille Lortel Awards for Outstanding Achievement Off-Broadway were handed out to recipients in 19 categories, with three honorary awards also bestowed. The Lortel Awards were distributed in a ceremony at NYU Skirball Center hosted by Meteor Shower co-stars Laura Benanti and Jeremy Shamos. This year's event was once again a benefit for The Actors Fund.
