Announcing CCM's Spring 2014 Performance Schedule - Nearly 150 Shows

The University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music (CCM) is delighted to announce its spring schedule of major events. The largest single source of performing arts events in the state of Ohio, CCM presents nearly 150 major public performances from Jan. 12 through May 18, ranging from faculty and guest artist concerts to fully supported opera, musical theatre, drama and dance productions.

Yale's School of Architecture and School of Drama are teaming up this fall to present 'Stage Designs by Ming Cho Lee,' a retrospective of the award-winning designer and Yale professor's work in theater, opera, and dance. The exhibit, free and open to the public, will be on view today, Nov. 21-Feb. 1 in the Yale School of Architecture Gallery, 180 York St., in New Haven.

CCM to Present Benjamin Britten's OWEN WINGRAVE, 11/21-24

The University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music's (CCM) celebration of Benjamin Britten at 100 continues with the Cincinnati premiere of the composer's penultimate opera Owen Wingrave, running Nov. 21-24 in Patricia Corbett Theater. CCM welcomes guest artist and alumnus Johannes Muller-Stosch to the podium for this Mainstage Series production, which features stage direction by CCM Professor of Voice Kenneth Shaw. The opera will be sung in English with supertitles.

Composed by Kurt Weill with book and lyrics by dramatist Bertolt Brecht (adapted into English by Marc Blitzstein), The Threepenny Opera weaves the riveting tale of notorious bandit and womanizer Macheath ('Mack the Knife') and his seedy companions in London's underworld. Weill's innovative score invented a new form of musical theatre, leading the way for such shows as Chicago and Cabaret.
