DPAC has announced that TINA - THE TINA TURNER MUSICAL is on stage for eight performances beginning January 3 – 8, 2023, as part of Truist Broadway at DPAC.

The Hippodrome Theatre at the France-Merrick Performing Arts Center is delighted to announce that tickets for TINA – THE TINA TURNER MUSICAL will go on sale Friday, September 2 for eight performances from Tuesday, November 15 to Sunday, November 20.  

Casting has been announced for the North American tour ofTINA – THE TINA TURNER MUSICAL. The tour will hold technical rehearsals and launch at  the Providence Performing Arts Center in Providence, Rhode Island on September 11, 2022 and go on to  visit 30 cities in its first year. 

The Welders, a collective of DC-area playwrights presents the third production of the third cohort's tenure and their first in-person production.

Theatre Under The Stars bursts with Rock n Roll energy as they reopen at the Hobby Center after a 19-month intermission with Rock of Ages. On October 7th, Chris D'Arienzo's rock party opened to great applause as a nostalgic night out greeted Houstonians becoming a much-needed break from the turbulent world. After a phenomenal virtual premiere of Jared Shambergers' documentary theatre piece, The B Word, Teshonne Nicole Powell's Girls' Night (with Spirits) is an audioplay that hopes to capture the hearts of listeners through a quirky ghost story with a twist.

Arena Stage at the Mead Center for American Theater’s latest world premiere film, “The 51st State', is now available to stream. You can watch the film by clicking here.  The hyper-local 60-minute docudrama created by Washington, D.C. artists through the voices of 11 residents was inspired by protests and the reignition of a movement after the murder of George Floyd and the quest for creating the 51st state and sovereignty in Washington, D.C. From a first-time protestor to a fourth-generation Washingtonian political scientist, to artists, an attorney, people of faith, and a retired couple moved to take part in the movement despite the COVID-19 risks, these diverse perspectives and real-life stories are vividly told and transformed into affecting narratives by 10 local playwrights. 

Arena Stage at the Mead Center for American Theater's latest world premiere docudrama, The 51st State, will receive its world premiere through Arena Stage's Supper Club on September 16 at 7 p.m. Following the premiere, viewers can join artists and creatives for a post-film discussion and after-party on Zoom.
