New York Musical Theatre Festival is in full swing and BroadwayWorld has taken the time to sit down with some of the stars of this years NYMF musicals. Like any great art form, musical theatre is shaped by the events and philosophies of the day. The strength and vitality of musical theatre lie in its ability to stay fresh and relevant. It was with that idea in mind, ten years ago, that the New York Musical Theatre Festival (NYMF) was created - to provide an effective platform to introduce new shows, new perspectives, and new blood into the musical theatre canon. The New York Musical Theatre Festival (NYMF) in association with Tomorrow's Child, Inc. & Actors' Playhouse Productions presents REAL MEN, a musical for guys and the women who put up with them with book, music and lyrics by Paul Louis and Nick Santa Maria. David Arisco directs a cast of three, including Paul Louis (Regional: Little Shop; Spamalot), Nick Santa Maria (Bway: Grease, The Producers) and Stephen G. Anthony (Bway: Hank Williams, Lost Highway). Real Men, A Musical for Guys and the Women Who Put Up With Them is being staged at The Laurie Beechman Theatre at the West Bank Cafe, 407 West 42nd Street (bet. 9th & 10th Avenues) in NYC for five performances from Monday, July 13 through Monday, July 20, 2015. *Appearing courtesy of Actors' Equity Association.

The New York Musical Theatre Festival (NYMF) announced today its additional selections for NYMF 2015. Acappella, Claudio Quest, HeadVoice, Held Momentarily, Moses Man, Napoleon, Real Men, a musical for guys and the women who put up with them; Songs for the Fallen, Tonya & Nancy: The Rock Opera and Wearing Black join the previously announced new musicals that will be presented at the 2015 New York Musical Theatre Festival from July 7, 2015 to July 27, 2015.

Flat Rock Playhouse and Eblen-Kimmel Charities presents the Tony Award winning musical, A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, from today, October 2 - October 26 at the Flat Rock Playhouse Mainstage. Part of its 'Season of Laughter and Love,' presented by the Cliffs Communities, the Playhouse is pleased to offer Broadway's greatest farce and one of the funniest musicals ever written, created by the legendary Stephen Sondheim and Larry Gelbart.

This new, adult musical comedy about men is a madcap and hilarious romp through all the many stages of manhood, featuring 29 original songs all paying homage to all things male, lampooning such issues as fatherhood, mid-life crisis, dating, marriage, aging, and sex (or the lack of it), giving an inside glimpse of what it takes to be a man in a modern world shared with women, children, and parents.
