These are some of the random thoughts that whizzed through my head while trying to see through the clutter of Zakiyyah Alexander's 10 Things to Do Before I Die, a game effort but a frustratingly unfocused piece receiving a well-acted premiere production via Second Stage Theatre Uptown.

Due to heavy demand for tickets, the New York Musical Theatre Festival (NYMF) and Andy Sandberg (Hair) have announced two additional performances for The Last Smoker in America with Book & Lyrics by Bill Russell (Side Show, Tony Award Nominee), and Music by Peter Melnick (Adrift in Macao, Drama Desk Nominee) on Wednesday afternoon, October 14th at 1:00 p.m. and late night Friday, October 16th at 11:00 p.m.

What'chu talkin' about Willis, after a six-year run on Broadway the former child star turned building superintendent will undergo a sex change? Well, the casting notices already have. According to the Actors' Equity Association casting call notice, the recently turned Off-Broadway show is seeking an African American male in his mid 20s - 40s to showcase his impeccable comedic timing and strong vocal skills to land the part.

Second Stage Theatre (Carole Rothman, Artistic Director; Ellen Richard, Executive Director) will kick off this summer's Second Stage Theatre Uptown Series with the world premiere of Zakiyyah Alexander's 10 Things To Do Before I Die. Directed by Jackson Gay, 10 Things To Do Before I Die will feature Francois Battiste, Natalie Venetia Belcon, Kyle Beltran, Dion Graham, and Tracie Thoms. Opening night is Thursday, May 28 at 7:00pm.

TWILIGHT IN MANCHEGO maps the story of Esau Munsey, who leaves a haunted past in the city to teach fourth grade in a provincial elementary school. But his intentions to provoke change in an outdated education system distract him from the students he really wants to inspire. When Esau's history repeats itself and the small town of Manchego is struck by tragedy, Esau must finally put to rest the ghosts of his past and make peace with himself and his choices.
