The Hartt School's Theatre Division presents Pride and Prejudice on Thursday, February 17, Friday, February 18, and Saturday, February 19, at 7:30 PM, and Sunday, February 20, at 3:00 PM. Performances are in the Kent McCray Theater at the Mort and Irma Handel Performing Arts Center, 35 Westbourne Parkway, Hartford. The Ross Valley Players has announced auditions for its upcoming production of 'Pride and Prejudice.' Jane Austen's classic story, set in the Regency era, is brought to the stage in this 2005 adaptation by John Jory. Finding a husband among unsuitable suitors consumes Elizabeth Bennet's mother and sisters, while she remains independent - until she meets Mr. Darcy. Set in a society where snubs and deceit abound, the Bennet family matches pride and prejudice to reach a happy ending. Phoebe Moyer directs the production opening on Nov. 12, 2010.
