Today in 2002, Thoroughly Modern Millie opened at the Marquis Theatre, where it ran for 903 performances. Thoroughly Modern Millie is a musical with music by Jeanine Tesori, lyrics by Dick Scanlan, and a book by Richard Morris and Scanlan. Based on the 1967 film of the same name, it tells the story of a small-town girl, Millie Dillmount, who comes to New York City to marry for money instead of love - a thoroughly modern aim in 1922, when women were just entering the workforce. The production subsequently won six 2002 Tony Awards, including Best Musical and Best Actress in a Musical for Sutton Foster.

On Saturday night's SNL on NBC, April 7, Sofia Vergara made her debut appearance as host of the long-running sketch comedy show. The Emmy nominated actress can currently be seen in the six-time Emmy Award-winning series, 'Modern Family.' Watch the full episode below!

On last night's episode of ABC's hit comedy series MODERN FAMILY entitled 'Send Out the Clowns, Tony Award-Winner Ellen Barkin ('The Big Easy,' 'Ocean's Thirteen') and Bobby Cannavale ('Will & Grace,' 'Third Watch') made guest star appearances. The production is currently in previews at La Escuelita Cabaret Theater, (301 W 39th St. @ Eighth Ave) and has now been extended for an open run. The official opening will be on Tuesday, December 5, 2011.
