Westport Country Playhouse will stage the recent Off-Broadway hit, 'The Understudy,' a backstage comedy about a Hollywood action star rehearsing for a role on Broadway amid tensions with his understudy.  The cast includes Eric Bryant, Connecticut Critics Circle Award winner; Brett Dalton of ABC's 'Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.'; and Andrea Syglowski, award-winning actress. Running August 14 through September 1, the comedy is written by Theresa Rebeck, creator of NBC's show business drama, 'Smash,' and directed by David Kennedy, Westport Country Playhouse associate artistic director.

A Noise Within (ANW), the acclaimed classical repertory theatre presents critical and audience favorite Man of La Mancha by Dale Wasserman, music by Mitch Leigh and lyrics by Joe Darion, original production staged by Albert Marre, originally produced by Albert W. Selden and Hal James, and based on Cervantes' Don Quixote. ANW Artistic Director Julia Rodriguez-Elliott directs. La Mancha performs August 16 - September 9, 2018 (Press Opening August 18).

Inspired by the 17th century Spanish novel Don Quixote by Miguel de Cervantes, we watch Cervantes himself tell a story while imprisoned by the Spanish Inquisition. Our story within a story follows Don Quixote de La Mancha and his squire Sancho Panza battle evil and fights for his love, his Dulcinea.

Westport Country Playhouse stages the lavish, large-cast comedy, "A Flea in Her Ear," newly adapted by David Ives from the original by Georges Feydeau, and directed by Mark Lamos, Westport Country Playhouse artistic director.  Fresh from a sold-out run by Delaware's Resident Ensemble Players (REP), a professional theater located at the University of Delaware, the co-production with the REP runs in Westport July 10 - 28.

Man of La Mancha is written by Dale Wasserman, with music by Mitch Leigh and lyrics by Joe Darion. The production is directed by Michael Kirkland, with music direction by Nancy Sparklin.

Westport Country Playhouse announces its 2018 season, featuring five productions that are big for the soul, according to Artistic Director Mark Lamos. The Connecticut professional theater's lineup includes two comedies, one modern and one classic; a drama; a musical; and a world premiere, running from May 29 through November 17.

Music from Man of La Mancha, the new record from multi-GRAMMY®-winning pianist/singer/songwriter Eliane Elias, debuted at #1 on Billboard's Traditional Jazz Chart and #20 on Heatseekers just one week after its release via Concord Records. This is not the first #1 Jazz Album for Elias.
