The Riant Theatre to Kick Off 2014 STRAWBERRY ONE-ACT FESTIVAL, 8/20

The Riant Theatre under the direction of Artistic Director Van Dirk Fisher, has announced its 26th Anniversary season lineup for the Strawberry One-Act Festival, which consists of 21 new one-acts and 3 full length plays that will run August 20th -- August 31st at the Theatre at St. Clement's, 423 West 46th St.

Pumpkin Theatre continues its 46th Season Discovering New Friendships Through Familiar Tales in our NEW HOME with The Young Playwrights Festival. Part of our "Kids for Kids" series, this partnership with Center Stage's Young Playwrights Festival is a program that features award winning plays written by children, for children, and performed and designed by the Pumpkin Professional artistic staff. 'YPF is all about kids making theatre, and how transformative that can be. We're thrilled to partner with Pumpkin Theatre to expand the reach of these remarkable plays by some very talented young people,' says Kwame Kwei-Armah, Artistic Director of Center Stage. This year's plays feature, The True Story of How The Chicken Crossed the Road by Kendall Archer (written in 6th grade), Brightly and Jade, a story of Friendship and Bravery by Phoebe Taylor (written in 1st grade) and When Pigs Fly by Belle Dallam (written in 6th Grade).

Elephant Run District presents BRECHT IN THE PARK, three rarely-performed short plays by Bertolt Brecht, translated by Eric Bentley: The Elephant Calf (1926), In Search of Justice (1938) and The Exception and the Rule (1929). Performances run Saturdays and Sundays, now through to July 28 at 4 p.m. (no show July 13), near the southeast corner of the Great Hill in Central Park.
