STREAMY Award Nominations Announced

Nominations for the 2nd Annual Streamy Awards were announced in a live online broadcast today by the International Academy of Web Television, an independent organization of digital entertainment leaders created to recognize excellence in original episodic Web television programming. The Streamy Awards is the first and most prestigious live awards show dedicated to honoring the actors, directors, editors, producers, writers, and production talent behind some of the best original programming on the Web. More than 150,000 public submissions, covering 2,000 original shows, were narrowed down to a field of just over 100 nominatees. Winners will be announced at two separate ceremonies being held on April 7 and April 11, 2010 in Hollywood, CA.

American Musical Theatre of San Jose Ceases Operations

The American Musical Theatre of San Jose has announced that it is ceasing business operations, effective immediately. The sudden action will shutter the theatre's upcoming productions of Tarzan and 42nd Street. Both have been cancelled although the touring production of Chicago will be performed as scheduled and all tickets will be honored. AMTSJ is currently in communication with the producers of Avenue Q, to achieve the same result as Chicago.

Arnie Burton, the star of the hit Broadway play The 39 Steps, joined The Deconstructive Theatre Project's one-night-only staged reading of Michel Marc Bouchard's play, Lilies, or The Revival of a Romantic Drama. Lilies performed in the historic Sanctuary of Middle Church, built in 1872, in the East Village, on Monday, October 20th.
