Edinburgh International Culture Summit Comes To A Close

The 2018 Brooklyn Film Festival (BFF) is proud to announce that it is hosting a selection of short documentaries from The New York Times' Times Documentaries co-presented with a mix of BFF's animated and experimental films for the opening night program of the festival's 21st edition: THRESHOLD. The event will take place on Friday, June 1st at Wythe Hotel in Williamsburg. The screening will be followed by a Q&A with the BFF and the Times Documentaries filmmakers, and will be moderated by Brooklyn Film Festival Executive Director Marco Ursino. Season 1 of NBC's new series about the making of a musical, SMASH, ended last Monday, May 14, and according to the Hollywood Reporter, the show will cut a few characters for Season 2. Brian d'Arcy James, Will Chase, Jaime Cepero and Raza Jaffrey, who play Frank, Michael, Ellis and Dev resectively, will no longer be regulars when the show returns in 2013.

'Fair and Decent' Premiere Opens Luna Stage's New Season

Luna Stage begins its 16th theatrical season with the World Premiere of Fair and Decent by Thomas H. Diggs, to be directed by Luna Stage Artistic Director, Jane Mandel. Fair and Decent, a political comedy/drama, is set in 1980 at the dawn of the Reagan presidency. It begins in a Washington think tank as the insiders there excitedly prepare to influence the new administration. The play's historical context revolves around the effort to do away with the Fairness Doctrine, an FCC policy requiring holders of broadcast licenses to present contrasting viewpoints on controversial issues of public importance.
