In a welcome break from the usual steady stream of pantomimes and children's productions, the New Alexandra Theatre takes a trip back to the Roaring Twenties this Christmas with Chicago. However, similar to many pantos, this production features a star-studded cast, including Hayley Tamaddon, John Partridge and popstar Mica Paris.

David Ian, producer of the international award-winning musical CHICAGO, has announced that platinum selling singer, Mica Paris, will star as 'Mama Morton' when the show plays Sunderland Empire from 28 November to 3 December 2016 and Birmingham's New Alexandra Theatre for the Christmas season, from 12 December to 31 December 2016.

Last night (8 March 2016) marked the opening of the West End production of MOTOWN THE MUSICAL. With music and lyrics from the legendary Motown catalogue and book by Motown founder Berry Gordy, MOTOWN THE MUSICAL is directed by Charles Randolph-Wright. Last month, due to public demand, a further 200,000 tickets were released for sale taking bookings at the Shaftesbury Theatre to 18 February 2017. Award-winning composer Dougal Irvine (Departure Lounge, Teddy) and major entertainment agent Stuart Piper of Cole Kitchenn complete the faculty line-up for this year's Onstage Acts summer course. Dougal will lead a session exploring his own material, giving a unique insight into the mind of the composer, and Stuart will lead an exclusive and invalu- able Q&A session. The New Wolsey Theatre, Ipswich is producing a new actor-musician production of the classic swingin' sixties musical SWEET CHARITY which runs from Thursday 3 to Saturday 26 September, directed by Artistic Director Peter Rowe.
