HBO Max Renews OUR FLAG MEANS DEATH For A Second Season

HBO Max has renewed the comedy series OUR FLAG MEANS DEATH, from creator-showrunner David Jenkins, executive producer and star Taika Waititi and executive producer Garrett Basch, for a second season. Season one was (very) loosely based on the true adventures of 18th century would-be pirate Stede Bonnet, played by Rhys Darby.

Max Drazen makes his recording debut with “Let Me Down Slow.” Released today by Field Trip Recordings, the pulsing breakup anthem throbs with power vocals, scorched guitar and keenly observed lyrical details. The Los Angeles-based songwriter wrote the track with Dave Villa (FLETCHER, Daughtry), who also produced, and Tim Riehm.

Documentary Thriller NAVALNY By Director Daniel Roher To Stream On HBO Max

The CNN Films and HBO Max co-produced documentary thriller NAVALNY, about anti-corruption Russian government opposition leader Alexei Navalny, will be available to stream on HBO Max. The film, directed by filmmaker Daniel Roher, follows Navalny after he survived an assassination attempt by poisoning with a lethal nerve agent.

CNN Films and HBO Max Have Commissioned New True Crime Documentary, 'American Pain'

CNN Films and HBO Max, in association with TIME Studios, have commissioned a new true crime tale, American Pain, directed by Emmy® Award-winner Darren Foster and produced by Motto Pictures, Muck Media, and Fishbowl Films that traces the rise and fall of Chris and Jeff George, identical twins who are believed to be America’s most prolific opioid kingpins. In just a few short years of operation, the Georges ran a pill mill empire that attracted clients from around the country, and spawned a prescription drug trafficking network with an estimated street value of more than $500M. The film will premiere at the 2022 Tribeca Film Festival in June, and is currently slated for release in 2023.
