Casting for Cameron Mackintosh's acclaimed new production of Boublil and Schonberg's legendary musical MISS SAIGON-a smash hit in London, Broadway, and currently breaking box office records on a national tour in the U.K.-has been announced for its much-anticipated upcoming North American tour which launches in Providence, RI at the Providence Performing Arts Center (PPAC) September 21 - 30, 2018. In Providence, MISS SAIGON is part of the Taco/White Family Foundation Broadway Series.

A Chorus Line spans one day in the lives of 17 dancers all vying for a coveted spot in the chorus of a Broadway musical. Considered groundbreaking when it opened on Broadway in 1975, the musical went on to win nine Tony Awards and the 1976 Pulitzer Prize for Drama. Today, it remains as touching and powerful as when it debuted and is one of the longest running musicals on Broadway. The 2017 - 2018 Theatre Season is sponsored by Lutheran Medical Center. It is absolutely one of the best musicals I have ever experienced, and not just because their music was so much a part of my teenage years and brings back so many great memories, but for its astounding staging and the incredible cast who make the show one not to miss for musical theatre lovers of all ages!

On Friday, April 28, Center Theatre Group will launch the newly created free concert event 'Broadway at Grand Park' from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. with cast members from the Ahmanson Theatre's 'Into the Woods' and 'Jersey Boys' performing some of the biggest hits from these popular shows.

Fun Home, Waitress and An American in Paris headline the 2017-18 HCA/TriStar Health Broadway at TPAC Series, which leads off with the world premiere of a new musical in development - Part of the Plan, an original musical written by Kate Atkinson and Karen Harris and featuring songs from the catalog of famed singer/songwriter Dan Fogelberg.

There's a reason why the musical, Jersey Boys is such a hit, and last night the audience at The Bushnell got to experience all the hype. 

'Jersey Boys,' with book by Marshall Brickman and Rick Elice, music by Bob Gaudio, lyrics by Bob Crewe, choreography by Sergio Trujillo, and direction by Des McAnuff, will run at Center Theatre Group's Ahmanson Theatre beginning May 16 for an opening night on May 18. I thought, 'Big Whoop'. I never had any desire to see this show. First, it's Frankie Valli, how tough could his life really be, big star, where's the conflict? Secondly, and more importantly, I know this music. I certainly did not want to see it performed in the classical musical theater operatic style. I could be in for a very long night.

How can one musical contain so many hits? I'll give you a hint: Jersey Boys has the secret recipe. This show is the get-off-your-feet, lipsync-in-your-seat masterpiece that you need to see as soon as possible.
