Megan Hilty gave a wicked good performance at the Citi Shubert Theatre last night as she sang her way through her signature songs from the NBC-TV series 'Smash' and selections from her Broadway appearances in WICKED and 9 TO 4 THE MUSICAL. Sirius XM star Seth Rudetsky shined as pianist and host for Broadway @ The Shubert, presented by Mark Cortale to benefit the Boston Gay Men's Chorus.

National Asian Artists Project (Baayork Lee, Executive Artistic Director), will celebrate its 5th Anniversary of "showcasing the work of Asian-American theatre artists through performance, outreach and educational programming" on Monday, October 5th at 8pm at NYU Skirball Center for the Performing Arts (566 LaGuardia Place) with Past, Present & Future, a one-night- only Gala Benefit evening featuring a line-up of show-stopping wall-to-wall musical numbers from Broadway shows, highlights from past NAAP productions and current material, as well as what Ms. Lee hopes to stage in the future.  With a cast of over one hundred supervised by Ms. Lee and acclaimed director Richard Jay-Alexander, the evening will feature seasoned Broadway professionals - friends and supporters of NAAP - staging many of the numbers. With a full orchestra led by Broadway musical supervisor and conductor Kevin Stites and lighting & sound design by Matt Berman, this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to support this worthy company as they head into the future. 20th Anniversary of the Todd Schroeder Young Artist Grant Benefit Concert Set for Tonight

The talent lineup for the 20th Anniversary of the Todd Schroeder Young Artist Grant Benefit Concert, scheduled to take place in Sonora, California, on April 18th, has been announced today. Headlining the show will be Sam Harris, direct from his Off-Broadway hit run of 'Ham: A Musical Memoir,' directed by Billy Porter ('Kinky Boots') and produced by Susan Dietz. Other performers will include Mark D. Espinoza, best known for his role as 'Jesse' on the hit 90s TV series 'Beverly Hills, 90210'; multi-platinum selling songwriter Kevin Fisher; Robyn Spangler, BroadwayWorld's 2011 Cabaret Artist of the Year, and many more. Light and sound design will once again be created by Broadway veteran technical director Matt Berman.

There was a seismic event and emotional roller coaster onstage Thursday night at the 92nd Street Y, in the Kaufmann Concert Hall theatre. Her name is DEBBIE ..... DEBORAH VOIT. It was the first performance in New York City of a piece called VOIGT LESSONS. The piece was co-created by Voight, Terrence McNally and Francesca Zambello, years ago, at Glimmerglass and the diva told us that it has been performed 'very few times, let alone in New York City.' The crowd proceeded to go crazy. The piece- so simple, yet brilliantly calibrated.

This season's Lincoln Center's American Songbook, curated by John Nakagawa and Charles Cermele, busted out of the gate with a 'B' (as in Broadway...) with an opening night featuring Billy Porter and, last night, a star who we saw in a whole new light, Norm Lewis. Lewis did what he does best, and knocked it out of the ballpark with a fantastic program, entitled WHO AM I?, in which he proved, via one of the strongest American Songbooks ever seen, that 'you are, indeed, what you sing.'
