Shively (La Cage Aux Folles, Unlock'd, February House) Rachel Valdati (My Big Gay Italian Wedding) and American Idol Top 10 Finalist Erika Van Pelt will sing songs from the Michael Jackson catalog at The Pop Show Presents…Michael Jackson! on Monday, September 16, 2013 at Birdland Jazz Club.

Rated M for Mature, which will make its world premiere this summer at the Cherry Lane Theatre as part of the New York International Fringe Festival, is inspired by real events and will feature direction from Paul Dobie (currently the Assistant Director of Wicked who also served as AD on the Broadway productions of Thoroughly Modern Millie, Glengarry Glen Ross and Martin Short: Fame Becomes Me). The production will run from Wed. 8/22 thru Sun. 8/26 and is produced by Ryan Duncan (the original casts of Shrek and Altar Boyz).

When the sad news came out this morning that famed Disney songwriter Robert B. Sherman died yesterday, March 5, in London, some of our first thoughts here at BroadwayWorld went out to Tony-winner Marc Shaiman. Shaiman had been a huge proponent of the incredible 'THE BOYS - The Sherman Brothers' Story' documentary and it was his enthusiasm that sent us off to see the fantastic film, and our lives were better off for it. We asked Marc to put together some of his thoughts on Robert Sherman and are proud to present them below.

Vocal selection are now available for Frank Wildhorn's WONDERLAND, which opened on Broadway last Spring. The new, highly provocative TV commercial for this season's smash hit, SILENCE! The Musical, is set to being airing today on most major networks. SILENCE! The Musical, the unauthorized parody of The Silence of the Lambs, with book by Hunter Bell, music & lyrics by Jon and Al Kaplan, and direction & choreography by Christopher Gattelli, opened July 9, 2011 to unanimous rave reviews. The show immediately became a sold-out phenomenon and was recently selected by Time Magazine as one of the year's Top 5 Musicals.

SILENCE! The Musical, filmed a TV commercial last Thursday, January 26th onstage at P.S. 122. Featuring cannibalism, cross-dressing and various excised body parts, the new commercial is currently in post-production and will begin airing on major networks later this month.
