But audiences want more, so producers Andrew Lloyd Webber, David Ian and David Mirvish have had to give in and quickly organize one more week of the classic musical. Burke, a versatile star of stage and screen originally from Australia but with a large body of work in the U.K., will take over the role of Captain von Trapp, having played the role in the West End London production of THE SOUND OF MUSIC, opposite the 'Marias' of Connie Fisher and Summer Strallen.

David Mirvish is delighted to present a total of eight shows in the new 2008/2009 Mirvish Theatre Season. Six of the shows - five acclaimed musicals and one classic drama - will be available in a subscripton package. Two bonus shows, both musicals, round out the season.

The search to find Canada's Maria von Trapp starts January 25, 2008 with a seven-city cross-country audition tour that will culminate in the eight-week CBC Television series 'How Do You Solve a Problem Like Maria?'
