The song features R&B breakouts and fellow ARTium Recordings collaborators Jordan Ward and Ogi along with rising independent singer-songwriter Madison McFerrin.The new track comes ahead of the Chicago duo’s highly anticipated joint album From the Private Collection of Saba and No ID out soon via ARTium Recordings. “head.rap,” is a simply crafted, incredibly catchy ode to Black hair. It’s calming and mellow, with brilliantly layered verses from Saba, a powerful hook shared by Ward and Ogi, lucious backing vocals from McFerrin, and a gently percussive beat that sounds like the memory of a summer’s day. Pittsburgh's tenor sax great Stanley Turrentine and trumpet king Sean Jones have set a high bar for fellow practitioners at the Pittsburgh International Jazz Festival Presented by Citizens (PIJF) to follow. Trumpeters Nicholas Payton and Keyon Harrold and tenor saxophonist and Pittsburgher Chelsea Baratz, have met that bar with their inventive and individual artistic expressions.

BRIC, an arts and media institution anchored in Downtown Brooklyn whose work spans contemporary visual and performing arts, media, and civic action, announced today the in-person return of Jazzfest to BRIC House (647 Fulton St.) this Fall. 

The New York-based orchestra is made up of 15 of the finest soloists, ensemble players, and arrangers in jazz music today. Free tickets are required for entry; ticket reservations will be open for request on Monday, June 7 at 12:00PM ET.

The 2021 season of the free festival will kick off at 7:30pm on Saturday, July 31st (doors open at 6:00pm) with R&B singer/songwriter Ari Lennox as the headliner, Brooklyn-based rapper and poet KAMAUU and Jamaican-bred R&B artist Nesta as openers.

On Saturday, December 5 at 9 pm ET the world famous Apollo Theater continues its support of emerging musical artists through its Apollo Music Café series, welcoming Madison McFerrin to the Apollo Digital Stage.
