Bill Hanney's award-winning North Shore Music Theatre (NSMT) kicks off the 64th Annual Season with Rodgers and Hammerstein's OKLAHOMA!, one of the greatest classic musicals of all time, playing for two-weeks only from Tuesday, June 4 thru Sunday, June 16, 2019. La Mirada Theatre For The Performing Arts and McCoy Rigby Entertainment present SINGIN' IN THE RAIN, based on the greatest movie musical of all time with screenplay by Betty Comden & Adolph Green and songs by Nacio Herb Brown and Arthur Freed. The fresh new production will be directed & choreographed by Spencer Liff (Emmy nominee for TV's 'So You Think You Can Dance' and Broadway's Head Over Heels, Hedwig and the Angry Inch and Falsettos), associate director is Cynthia Ferrer (original 'Kathy Selden' in the first National Tour of Singin' in the Rain) with musical direction by Keith Harrison. SINGIN' IN THE RAIN will preview on Friday, April 19, 2019 (with a press opening on Saturday, April 20 at 8pm) and run through Sunday, May 12, 2019 at La Mirada Theatre for the Performing Arts, 14900 La Mirada Blvd in La Mirada. Florida Orchestra Features Broadway Performers in Broadway Tonight Concert

Kelli Barrett, who has appeared on Broadway in Wicked and Gettin' The Band Back Together, and stars as Liza Minnelli in FX's Fosse/Verdon, will be appearing in Johnny Mercer's lost musical FOXY at Feinstein's/54 Below on Tuesday, April 9th at 7:00pm.

FOXY, the 1964 musical based on Ben Johnson's Volpone, with a score by Johnny Mercer and Robert Emmett Dolan and a book by Ian McLellan Hunter and Ring Lardner Jr, will return to New York City with a star-studded Broadway cast at Feinstein's/54 Below on Tuesday, April 9that 7:00pm.

Opening in November of 1945 and closing up shop less than four months later, the sophomore Broadway effort of the team of Alan Jay Lerner and Frederick Loewe, THE DAY BEFORE SPRING, would be the last musical by the composer of sumptuous melodies and the scribe of urbane wit that would lapse into obscurity.

The Green Room 42 will bring this premiere show of 'The Life of the Party: The Music of Andrew Lippa' to The Green Room 42! Directed and produced by Quentin Garzon and Music Directed by Dominic Frigo, 'The Life of the Party: The Music of Andrew Lippa' is a night where we will explore Lippa's vast career. Our talented group of singers will be performing from some of his hit shows, including The Wild Party and The Addams Family, and will also be showing off some of his hidden gems! Rubicon Theatre's 20th Anniversary Season culminates with a two-piano version of Rodgers and Hammerstein's soaring epic South Pacific, helmed by award-winning director KATHARINE FARMER and featuring a cast of 28 led by Tony honoree BEN DAVIS (Baz Luhrmann's La Boheme) and MADISON CLAIRE PARKS (Luisa in The Fantasticks Off-Broadway).

This Thursday, December 7 marks the anniversary of the air raid on Pearl Harbor in which Japanese planes attacked a United States Naval Air Base in the Territory of Hawaii in the Pacific. Thousands of Americans lost their lives or were injured, and more than 300 ships were destroyed. The event brought citizens together in support of U.S. participation in the war. President Roosevelt addressed the nation, calling the event, 'a day that will live in infamy.'

SOUTH PACIFIC is the final show of Rubicon Theatre Company's 20th Anniversary Season. Winner of eight Tony Awards, including Best Musical, SOUTH PACIFIC is set on an exotic island during World War II. The plot follows two love stories about seeming-opposites brought together by the circumstances of war and torn apart by prejudice and fear. SOUTH PACIFIC is based on James Michener's Pulitzer Prize-winning novel "Tales of the South Pacific." The timeless score includes beautiful ballads such as "Younger than Springtime" and "Some Enchanted Evening," as well as exuberant up-tempo songs like "I'm in Love with a Wonderful Guy," and driving anthems like the ever-timely "You've Got to Be Carefully Taught."

Rubicon Theatre Artistic Director Karyl Lynn Burns today announced that London-based director Katharine Farmer will helm the company's next two productions, a two-piano version of South Pacific (Dec. 5 - 23, 2018) which concludes Rubicon's 20th Anniversary Season, and Heisenberg (Jan. 30 - Feb. 17, 2019), a co-production with Laguna Playhouse, where the show runs Mar. 27 to Apr. 14, 2019).
