Moliere's THE LEARNED LADIES to Open 10/4 at June Havoc

Cake Productions and The New Ateh Theater Group present Moliere's The Learned Ladies, translated and adapted by Freyda Thomas. Paul Urcioli directs an all-female cast of eleven, including Kathryn Alexander, Sarah Brill, Francesca Day, Janna Emig, Susan Finch*, Katie Honaker*, Marta Kuersten, Madeleine Maby*, Sara Montgomery, Elizabeth Neptune, and Elena Sanz. Performances will be staged October 4-19, 2013 atThe Abingdon Theatre Arts Complex, June Havoc Theatre, 312 West 36th Street, New York, NY 10018. *Member, Actors' Equity Association. The Guerrilla Shakespeare Project (GSP) - under the direction of Executive Director, Tom Schwans and Artistic Director, Jordan Reeves - will present the world premiere of THE TRAGEDY OF KING ARTHUR BY W. SHAKESPEARE a play by Arthur Phillips, adapted from his critically acclaimed book 'The Tragedy of Arthur.' Preview performances of THE TRAGEDY OF ARTHUR will begin tonight, March 22 prior to an official press opening of March 24 at TBG Theatre (312 West 36th Street, 3rd Floor) in Manhattan. Currently celebrating its 3rd season, the Guerrilla Shakespeare Project (GSP) presents William Shakespeare's TAMING OF THE SHREW directed by Kim Martin-Cotton (recently seen on Broadway opposite Al Pacino in THE MERCHANT OF VENICE) with previews beginning March 17 prior to an official press opening of March 20 at the Medicine Show Theatre (549 West 52nd Street) in Manhattan.

In this new and gripping adaptation, set in the present day south, we will take a poignant look at the effects of wartime on young men. After seeing war and bloodshed, Franz Woyzeck returns home to his lover and child. Unable to reintegrate into society, perform sexually, or relate to those around, he is thrust into a world of confusion and chaos. Incorporating Andrews Sisters style music throughout, this production is both timely and entertaining.
