Lyric Theatre of Oklahoma announces casting and production teams for its annual summer shows, featuring new and returning national talent, including Mateja Govich, Christopher Rice, Kirsten Scott, Lindsie VanWinkle, Jeremy Benton, David Elder, Emily Skinner, Eleasha Gamble, Dan Sharkey, Lyn Cramer and more. All four productions -- OKLAHOMA!, MARY POPPINS, BIG FISH, and BILLY ELLIOT -- will perform at the Civic Center Music Hall in Oklahoma City.

Creating Musical Theatre features interviews with the directors and choreographers that make up today's Broadway elite. From Susan Stroman and Kathleen Marshall to Andy Blankenbuehler and Christopher Gattelli, this book features twelve creative artists, mostly director/choreographers, many of whom have also crossed over into film and television, opera and ballet. Director-choreographer Lyn Cramer put her cast to work right away, sending them on one by one during the overture, crawling, slinking, and rolling onstage. The cast of twenty-four filled the auditorium's huge stage, each one in full cat costume and moving in time to the music. The actors stay in character throughout, and their energy is infectious; they kept me riveted almost throughout the show.

Last time Lyric Theatre of Oklahoma presented THE WILL ROGERS FOLLIES was in 2002, during the theatre's first performances at the newly-renovated Civic Center Music Hall. In homage to this important milestone, the theatre will present the musical during its 50th Anniversary Season, July 23-27 at the Civic Center.

Oklahoma City Repertory Theatre, in partnership with the University of Oklahoma's A. Max Weitzenhoffer School of Musical Theatre, will present, just in time for Valentine's Day, MY FAIR LADY with book and lyrics by Alan Jay Lerner and music by Frederick Loewe.

The Oklahoma City Repertory Theatre presents MY FAIR LADY at The Freede Little Theatre from February 10-19, 2012, with an added performance on February 14th.
