Lyrics and Lyricists will present MISS: Broadway’s Women Songwriters on December 10, 11 and 12, celebrating Broadway’s long history of women songwriters and their indelible work, in a show conceived, co-written and co-hosted by two-time Tony nominee Kate Baldwin and award-winning composer-lyricist Georgia Stitt.

Dramatists Guild Foundation (DGF) held its 60th Anniversary Gala last night at Ziegfeld Ballroom, hosted by Jennifer Simard.

The Dramatists Guild of America is presenting season four of The Dramatists Guild Presents: TALKBACK. The Guild celebrates writers from a diverse array of backgrounds and how they’ve built meaningful careers within a constantly evolving industry. Broadway actor, performer and Academy Award Winner Celeste Lecesne (formerly James Lecesne) will have a workshop production of his newest solo play POOF! (Or What the Fairies Know) on October 27, 28, and 29th at 7:30 pm.

What did our critic think of FUN HOME at TheaterWorks Hartford? The musical FUN HOME, based on Alison Bechdel's graphic memoir ('a family tragicomic') won five Tony Awards in 2015, including Best Musical. And Jeanine Tesori (music) and Lisa Kron (book and lyrics) made history by being the first female duo to win a Tony. Oh, and by the way, the musical was a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize.

The Village, A Disco Musical! is extending its hit engagement at Dixon Place after its first week of sell-out performances. Originally scheduled to run through Saturday, October 15, the production will add performances on Friday, October 21 and Saturday, October 22 at 7:30 PM.

Queer|Art, New York City’s home for the creative and professional development of LGBTQ+ artists, has announced the upcoming Fall season of Queer|Art|Film, presented in person from September 19th – December 5th. Queer|Art|Film returns once again to the IFC Center with a season curated by multidisciplinary artists Heather Lynn Johnson and Sarah Zapata.

TheaterWorks Hartford will open its 2022-2023 season with Fun Home. The cast for Fun Home includes Broadway veterans Aaron Lazar as Bruce, Christiane Noll as Helen, and Sarah Beth Pfeifer.

Dixon Place will present The Village, A Disco Musical! for a limited run engagement from October 6 - 15, 2022. Set in New York City in 1979, The Village is loosely based on Our Town (if Thornton Wilder had lived on Christopher Street).

It was adapted from the 2006 memoir of Alison Bechdel. It is the story of Alison's journey discovering her own sexuality and her relationship with her closeted gay father Bruce as she tries to discover the truth about his mysterious life.
