Actress/singer Tiffany Bailey has many talents. She also happens to be a behavioral therapist for children with autism. I laud her for that. Last spring 2019 she released an album entitled Jazz with Pop and her cabaret show was very well received. In this interview she updates our readers as to the success of the CD and talks about her other projects for 2020.

The Welk Resort Theatre, located at the Welk Resort in San Diego, launches the Pulitzer Prize/Tony-winning A Chorus Line as part of its 39th Season. Director/Choreographer Hector Guerrero makes his debut on the Welk Resort stage with this beloved musical created by Michael Bennett in 1975 with music by Marvin Hamlisch, lyrics by Ed Kleban, and a book by James Kirkwood Jr and Nicholas Dante. Guerrero spoke about his evolution as a dancer, choreographer, director as well as how this musical speaks to him.

It cannot be said too, this drag show is no drag because this is a tight-knit unit of 3 professionals who have real chemistry with each other who have slavishly rehearsed and put on a show to delight all. There is something for everyone here.

The popular boy singer has only to put his name on a new show for his fans to turn out, and Michael Kirk Lane will deliver all the pathos and comedy they hope for, even in a theme-free show.

On Sunday, September 8, 2019 at 2 PM, local performer Vicki Knight will entertain with her show entitled 'September Once More'. The show will feature songs from Vicki's past, singing songs for her days performing at nightclubs in Canada, along with some of those funny stories she is known. Joel Baker, another local favorite, will accompany Vicki on the baby grand.

Although nuVOICES 5 was all about women playwrights, the staged readings in the revived Actor's Theatre of Charlotte festival at Queens University featured plenty of diversity - and plenty of onstage and tech talent.

The Welk Resort Theatre's production of "Menopause The Musical" has earned rave reviews and has now added three more shows to its run, now playing through Sunday, June 9. Performances are Saturdays at 1 p.m. and 8 p.m. and Sundays at 1 p.m.  Ticket prices for "Menopause The Musical" are $55 for performance only and $75 to include a pre-show three course meal at the Welk Resort's Canyon Grille Restaurant. 

One of the desert's favorite performers, Roberta Linn, will perform a special cabaret concert on Sunday, June 2, 2019 at the Arthur Newman Theater at the Jolsyn Center in Palm Desert. The show will feature many of her signature songs along with insider stories about her life, career, and close friendships with some of the biggest names in show business. Joining Roberta will be a trio led by Kevin Tokarz on piano, with Danny Flahive on Bass, and Gary Whiteside on drums. The show will kick off the 11th season of Les Michaels' Cabaret On Sundays Series that will run through September 29th. After hosting the World Premiere in 2007, Village Theatre is ecstatic to mount an all-new production of Million Dollar Quartet complete with a rock star team of professionals from around the country. The blockbuster hit story of Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, and Carl Perkins is set to run in Issaquah May 9 - June 23, 2019 before moving to Everett June 28 - July 28, 2019.

Welk Resorts Theatre today announced its 2019 season kicks off March 15 with San Diego theatre royalty starring in 'Menopause the Musical.' The 29th season of the famed Welk Theatre, which underwent a lobby remodel in 2018, also features Tony Award-nominated 'The Addams Family,' which will run Sept. 6 to Nov. 10, and Larry Raben's new 'Welkome Home for the Holidays!' running Nov. 22 to Dec. 29.  Weekly variety shows featuring popular classic rock tribute bands (The Eagles, Beatles and Neil Diamond) round out the season.

Cotuit Center for the Arts presents 'Hope for the Holidays,' a comical music revue written by Jo Brisbane, December 6 to 30 in the Black Box Theater. Performances are Today through Saturday at 7:30 PM and Sunday at 2 PM. Tristan DiVincenzo is Stage & Scenic Director and Malcolm Granger is Music Director for the revue, a spoof of 1960s televised Christmas specials.
