L.J. Matarese Releases Debut Novel
by Christina Mancuso
- Feb 11, 2014
Author L.J. Matarese has released her first novel Scene 38 Take 3. It is available on the WestBow Press online bookstore, Amazon.com and all major online book distributors. Matarese is a member of First Baptist Church of York.
Matarese says, 'My hope is that Scene 38 Take 3 will inspire readers to follow their dreams.' Matarese has triumphed in accomplishing her own dreams and wants her readers to come away with hope that the same is possible for them as well.
Laura Johnson is a recent college graduate trying to find her place in the world. Robert Lancing is a Hollywood director, but when he meets Laura, he soon realizes she may be so much more. Andy Copeland was a heartbreaker in high school. Now he is the pastor of a church and ready to settle down. When Laura is faced with the decision of which relationship to pursue, will she choose the man who broke her heart, or the man who has never given her any reason to doubt his intentions? Between her past and present, where does her future lie? Matarese graduated from Salisbury University with a Bachelor of Arts in Theater Technical Production.
Mary Scibur says, 'I am not, nor have I ever been, a romance sort of person, ever. In fact I would say that I avoid that particular genre. However, I read this for a friend and found not a stereotypical, cheesy, or un...relatable story, but an intriguing story of discovery, decisions, and struggles to live a life pleasing to God in all things. I enjoyed the characters, and found that the story was believable in a number of ways. It does in fact often seem like a record of some actual events. And I think that is why I enjoyed it most. I recommend this book to those who enjoy a good story. To those who would enjoy a look at someone else's life and story. To those who would like to see God working through a life in an unseen, but powerful way.'
