Stratford Festival extends the run of the musical Rent and Monty Python's Spamalot for a second time due to popular demand. Rent will now run until November 5 and Spamalot until November 18.

​​​​​​​The Stratford Festival's 2023 season begins this weekend with Rent directed by Thom Allison led by Andrea Macasaet, Robert Markus and Kolton Stewart. Jonathan Larson's sensational rock musical is staged with heart and purpose at the iconic Festival Theatre.

The Stratford Festival is putting the finishing touches on casting and will soon open its box office for a special holiday pre-sale for tickets to the 13 exciting shows of the 2023 season. Available now, the Disenchanted Original Soundtrack digital album features seven all-new original songs written by eight-time Oscar-winning composer Alan Menken and lyrics by three-time Oscar-winning lyricist Stephen Schwartz, whose work on “Enchanted” garnered three Academy Award® nominations and a score by Alan Menken.

Amy Adams, Patrick Dempsey, Maya Rudolph, Idina Menzel, James Marsden, Yvette Nicole Brown, James Monroe Iglehart, were in attendance at the premiere, as well as Alan Menken. Just as the 2022 season comes to a close, work for the 2023 season is getting underway at the Stratford Festival. Creative teams for next year's productions are coming into place and the casting department is busy confirming key roles for the season. Soon the workshops will be abuzz with artisans building the season's sets, props and costumes.

They include Hank Zipzer, co-written by Emmy® Award-winner Henry Winkler and Lin Oliver; the paranormal adventures of My Babysitter’s a Vampire; and a new season of the cult favorite teen dance series, The Next Step. Additionally, seasons 5-7 of The Next Step will be available this summer.

The uber-cool jam “Kicks,” performed by Chosen Jacobs, is the film’s opening musical sequence. The song was written by Antonina Armato, Tim James Price, Thomas Armato Sturges and Adam Schmalholz and produced by Antonina Armato and Tim James Price. The stand-out dance sequence is choreographed by Ebony Williams and Emilio Dosal. 

From the creators of “Descendants,” “High School Musical,” and “ZOMBIES” franchises, this musical is set in the vibrant street-sneaker subculture of New York City and puts a modern twist on Cinderella. The film features John Salley, Devyn Nekoda, Juan Chioran, Bryan Terrell Clark, Kolton Stewart, Robyn Alomar, Yvonne Senat Jones and Hayward Leach. 

Breaking Glass Pictures will release A Wake, a riveting family drama from Director Scott Boswell (The Stranger in Us) centered around secrets, lies, and true love.

On the heels of its sweeping success at Theatre Calgary, the producers and creative team behind the musical The Louder We Get have released a new music video of the exhilarating song 'This Dance Is For You.'

The Louder We Get runs at Theatre Calgary January 28 - February 22, 2020, in the Arts Commons Max Bell Theatre, in Calgary Alberta, Canada. Tickets are on sale now at theatrecalgary.com.

Theatre Calgary's Artistic Director Stafford Arima (Allegiance, Broadway; Carrie, Off-Broadway revival; Altar Boyz, Off-Broadway), along with Solo Productions' Mary Young Leckie (Maudie, Mary's Wedding), have just announced the creative team and casting for The Louder We Get, based on the true story of Marc Hall, with book by Kent Staines, lyrics by Akiva Romer-Segal, and music by Colleen Dauncey.
