Inaugural Rogue Lab Reading Series Showcases Seven New Plays by LA Playwrights

Award-winning artists' collective Rogue Artists Ensemble is thrilled to announce the Inaugural Rogue Lab Readings Series, a four-day event that includes readings of seven new works written, directed, and designed by emerging LA artists, as well as post-show discussions and receptions. The reading series will feature new plays by 2018-2019 Rogue Lab playwrights Lisa Sanaye Dring, Eric Fagundes, John Guerra, Mildred Inez Lewis, Chelsea Sutton, and Jennie Webb, and a special new play presentation by writing team Taylor Coffman and Z. Lupetin.

The Kent State University Orchestra and Combined Choirs join together to conclude the School of Music's 2018-19 concert season on Sun., May 5 at 3 p.m. in Cartwright Hall's University Auditorium. This annual audience favorite brings together nearly 200 musicians from the Kent State University Orchestra, Kent Chorus, Kent Chorale, and Men's and Women's Choruses. Conductors include Dr. Jungho Kim, Director of Orchestra, and Dr. Scott MacPherson, Director of Choral Studies.

The Drama League presents DirectorFest 2019: The 35th Annual Directors Festival, the only festival in the United States exploring the art of contemporary stage directing, now in its 35th year. The festival will include six fully-staged productions, a showcase evening of a new musical, discussion forums, and conversations with notable American directors. DirectorFest will take place at various locations around NYC: New Ohio Theatre (154 Christopher Street), The Drama League Theater Center (32 Avenue of the Americas), LaGuardia Performing Arts Center (31-10 Thompson Avenue, Long Island City), and Joe's Pub (425 Lafayette Street). The Cleveland Orchestra's Management And Musicians Announce Terms Of New Trade Agreement

Management and Musicians of The Cleveland Orchestra have successfully concluded negotiations for a new three-year trade agreement for the 2018/2019, 2019/2020 and 2020/2021 seasons. The agreement was ratified by the members of the Orchestra through a vote which took place at the end of last week and weekend.

Dimo Kim Musical Theatre Factory, a new theatre company providing more roles for Asian American actors has announced that it will present the Off-Broadway revival of COMFORT WOMEN: A NEW MUSICAL written by South Korean Theater Director Dimo Hyun Jun Kim, Osker David Aguirre, and Joann Malory Miese with music by Bryan Michaels and TaeHo Park on Friday, July 20ththrough Sunday, September 2nd at the Peter Jay Sharp Theatre (416 West 42nd Street). The official opening will be on Friday, July 27th. The production is supported by the Korean Council for the Women Drafted for Military Sexual Slavery by Japan.

Kim Yutani Named Director Of Programming, Sundance Film Festival

Sundance Institute's John Cooper announced today that Kim Yutani is the Sundance Film Festival's new Director of Programming. Yutani will lead the curation of film, media, and off-screen programming at both the Sundance Film Festival and other year-round public platforms and programs that showcase and elevate independent storytellers and artists. She was formerly Senior Programmer at the Festival, and will report directly to Festival Director John Cooper.

Galesburg Selected To Host 2018 One State Together In The Arts Conference

Shakespeare's TITUS ANDRONICUS comes to Rose Playhouse, Bankside, this summer, running from 5th to 30th July. This new production is presented by New York-based company Luvas Theatre and London's Time Zone Theatre in association with the Rose Playhouse. It will be directed by South Korean director Jung Han Kim, who trained with renowned The Living Theatre in New York, and will devise the play using original and new text, movement and sound. Part of Contemporary Shakespeare, a project that brings together artists from different countries to present Shakespeare's plays in London and New York City this summer.

New York Live Arts, New York's dynamic center for dance and the performing arts under the artistic leadership of world-renowned choreographer Bill T. Jones, appoints Kim Cullen as its new Executive Director. Cullen began working for New York Live Arts in 2014 as the Producer of the 2015 Live Ideas festival curated by Laurie Anderson and joined the organization in the summer of 2015 as Interim Executive Director. Prior to her engagement at New York Live Arts, Cullen worked as free-lance producer in New York and Europe and served as Producing Director for Elizabeth Streb. During her tenure at Streb, the Streb Lab for Action Mechanics secured financing from the City of New York to purchase its Williamsburg Brooklyn building.

Toronto (Wednesday, April 1, 2015) – The Aga Khan Museum has joined Toronto Public Library's Sun Life Financial Museum + Arts Pass (MAP) program and now offers five passes per week at 50 library branches across Toronto. The pass grants a free family pass for two adults and three children to the Museum, and can be borrowed from Toronto Public Library using a valid adult library card, much the way someone might borrow a book from the Library's collection.
