Ze Follies Dorée will present THE SHOW OF SHOW SHOWS: THE SHOW! Experience 'French New York,' singing chickens, curious can-cans, dirty barbershop quartets, off-kilter advertisements, dazzling guest-star appearances, and endless encores every Friday night in February at the Brooklyn Comedy Collective.

The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey has announced that there will be a number of opportunities for audiences to enjoy its renowned Shakespeare LIVE! company perform in-person at the end of April.  

The Axelrod Performing Arts Center has joined The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey to celebrate the work of William Shakespeare, just in time for his 457th birthday. “The Bard at Bell Works” takes place on the Bell Works campus in Holmdel, NJ.

In only it's second year, the Wet Paint - New Play Festival has managed to round up B'way veterans (Johanna Leister, Layan Elwazani), TV stars (Christopher Shyer, Rachel Handler), & Amazon Best-Selling authors (Edward Medina) to participate in a barebones development series of short-performances. This year's festival has a theme: Walls, and with that theme, Point-Blank Theatre Co. received a unique submission. William Hobbs, a member of Voices Inside, an inmate writing/theatre program at Northpoint Training Center in KY, submitted his play, A Spider's Web and was accepted among dozens of NYC playwright applicants.

The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey is now presenting their marvelous season's finale, 'The Winter's Tale' by William Shakespeare. With splendid direction by the Theatre's Artistic Director, Bonnie Monte, and an outstanding cast of thespians, this vibrant tale has a clever blend of reality and fantasy that will charm audiences

The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey's concludes its 56th season with its sixth and final Main Stage production, The Winter's Tale. Last seen at The Shakespeare Theatre in 2008, Artistic Director Bonnie J. Monte directs this production of Shakespeare's tragicomedic romance. Veteran company members Jacqueline Antaramian, Jon Barker, Erin Partin, John Keabler, Raphael Nash Thompson, Seamus Mulcahy, Patrick Toon, and Ames Adamson are among a cast of 20 actors. Performances begin December 5. Patrons can purchase tickets at The F.M. #theatrecompany will present a reading of Will Eno's Middletown at The Harlem YMCA's Little Theater on September 14th, 2018 at 7:30 PM. Co-Artistic Director AC Horton will direct this deeply moving and funny play, in #theatrecompany's first production in New York since Requiem for Millennials at Dixon Place in October 2016.

The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey opens their 2018 season with a bold, bright, and brilliant production of Moliere's classic French comedy Tartuffe. Translated by Richard Wilbur and superbly directed by the Theatre's Artistic Director, Bonnie J. Monte, the show features an outstanding cast.

The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey welcomed 10 Artistic Fellows at the start of the new year as part of the 22nd company of their acclaimed education program, Shakespeare LIVE!. Conceived in 1997, the touring program has brought 65-minute productions of Shakespeare's plays to over 100 schools throughout the tri-state area each year for over two decades.

One of the best parts of covering and reviewing theater in one region for almost 30 years is seeing new talent emerge from among the area's younger actors. Take, for example, Ryan Garrett - a 2012 First Night Most Promising Actor and a graduate of Williamson County's Centennial High School, he now studies at the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music, a program that has encouraged him to think outside the box and which has challenged him with ever-more intense roles onstage and in the classroom.

The 24 Hour Company (producers of The 24 Hour Plays on Broadway and around the world, as well as The 24 Hour Musicals) and their longtime collaborator The New School College of Performing Arts, School of Drama will present The 24 Hour Plays: Nationals in New York City this summer.

On Monday, June 25, the Broadway at Birdland concert series was presented songwriter Jack Lechner and a very talented cast of singers to the historic stage. Singing Lechner's songs and praises were Nancy Anderson, Chris Critelli, Desmond Dutcher, Jeannine Frumess, Andy Monroe, Jeremy Schonfeld, Lucas Steele, and Karen Ziemba, with musical direction by Boko Suzuki. Lechner is best known for his 2010 off-Broadway musical The Kid, co-written with composer Andy Monroe and librettist Michael Zam.
