Diversionary Theatre has announced the cast and creative team for its San Diego-premiere of Head Over Heels, a musical based upon “The Arcadia” by Sir Philip Sidney, with songs by the iconic 80's all-girl rock band, The Go-Go's. 

Nonprofit program initiative “A Chance to Rock' has announced the first of several upcoming fundraising events this year on Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2023, at the Band Aid School of Music, located at 2309 Thornton Road, Austin, Texas 78704.

The European première of Head Over Heels will take place the Hope Mill Theatre in Manchester next year. The production opens on 31 January 2023, with previews from 26 January, running until 4 March.

Austin-based multimedia company Nelda Studios continues its philanthropic mission by teaming up with foster care nonprofit Austin Angels and the prestigious Band Aid School of Music to announce their new nonprofit program initiative, “A Chance to Rock,” providing music lessons and instruments to children experiencing foster care.

Expect cross dressing, deceit, and general campy comedic hijinks.

CATCO's presentation of the musical HEAD OVER HEELS may be the ultimate May-December romance with an age gap of nearly 400 years. The production takes Arcadia, a 16th century play written by Sir Phillip Sidney and remixes it with the music of the Go Gos, a 1980s all-girl quintet. The musical, which debuted at the Oregon Shakespearean Festival in 2015, then throws a spotlight on transgender relationships and current sexual politics.

 This year's benefit will be a virtual broadcast taking place the week following Thanksgiving from 7 - 9 p.m. and will feature music from Delbert McClinton, Ruthie Foster, Ray Wylie Hubbard, Max Frost, Shinyribs, Ray Benson, Marcia Ball, Band of Heathens, Jackie Venson, Sunny Sweeney, and more.

SHOWTIME has released the trailer for the upcoming feature-length documentary THE GO-GO'S, hailing from director Alison Ellwood (HISTORY OF THE EAGLES, American Jihad).

Utopia has acquired the North American rights to SUZI Q, the official documentary that charts the 54-year career of the pioneering female rockstar who burst onto the rock n roll scene in the 70s, set for a one-night-only theatrical event release nationwide on July 1 and a DVD & Digital release on July 3.

The shows will take place at The Townsend (718 Congress Ave #100) this Friday, Feb. 1 at 6 p.m. and Saturday, Feb. 2 at 4 p.m. Tickets sales will help THE ADDERLEY SCHOOL raise funds to support underserved children in the Austin community.
