The Kennedy Center Will Present FRAGMENTS Plays, 4/14-17

The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts presents C.I.C.T./Théâtre des Bouffes du Nord's production of Fragments running April 14 to 17 in the Kennedy Center Eisenhower Theater. Co-directed by Peter Brook and Marie Hélène Estienne, Fragments brings together four short plays by Samuel Beckett including Rough for Theatre I, Rockaby, Act Without Words II, Come and Go, as well as the poem, Neither. Press night will take place on Thursday, April 14 at 7:30 p.m.

Additional performances are scheduled at this venue on January 29 (7:30 p.m.) and 30 (3 p.m.) and on February 4-5 (8 p.m.) at The ArtsCenter in Carrboro (www.artscenterlive.org or 919/929-2787). February 13 (7 p.m.) at The Chapel of the Cross in Chapel Hill (919/929-2193) and February 18 (7:30 p.m.) at St. Matthew's Episcopal Church in Hillsborough (919/732-9308). Tickets are $10 and are on sale now at both box offices and online. The play is written by Lynden Harris, directed by Kathryn Hunter-Williams and features Chaunesti Webb Lyon and Brie Nash.

RSC Brings Goold's ROMEO AND JULIET et al. to Lincoln Center '11

The Royal Shakespeare Company's 44 member acting ensemble will perform five plays by William Shakespeare at Park Avenue Armory as part of Lincoln Center Festival next summer. Lincoln Center Festival and Park Avenue Armory, in association with The Ohio State University, are bringing the Royal Shakespeare Company to New York for this six-week engagement. This unprecedented theatrical event takes place July 6 through August 14, 2011.
