Three one-acts from the writer The New York Times critic Ben Brantley described as "…one of our funniest playwrights," master of parody Christopher Durang, will be presented beginning November 9 at L'Etage Cabaret in Philadelphia. A Streetcar Named Durang: Two Burlesques and a Western will be presented by The Idiopathic Ridiculopathy Consortium, the Philadelphia-based theater company whose mission is to present classic absurdist theater to audiences in the Philadelphia region.

A group of avid knitters formed of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory cast members have been knitting hats to support St Mungo's Woolly Hat Day (Friday 31 January) when the charity asks people to put their hats on for homeless people.

The hit West End production of Roald Dahl's Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, directed by Sam Mendes, announced today that it has extended its booking period by six months until 1 November 2014. The show had previously been booking until 31 May 2014. The production, which has so far been seen by almost 300,000 people since it began previews in May 2013, is extending its run due to popular demand, releasing almost 400,000 extra tickets.

CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY, the highly anticipated West End musical starring Olivier and Tony Award winner Douglas Hodge as Willy Wonka, has been postponed. The first two previews - scheduled for May 17 and 18, respectively - have been cancelled and performances will now begin May 22 instead of May 23.

According to the Daily Mail, Roald Dahl's Charlie and the Chocolate Factory will begin previews on May 17 instead of May 18 at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane. Opening night is still set for June 25. Directed by Academy Award winner Sam Mendes, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory will star Olivier and Tony Award-winning Douglas Hodge as Willy Wonka. Theatrica Ltd. in association with The Landor Theatre have announced the cast and creatives for THE THING ABOUT MEN, a musical comedy, including Lucyelle Cliffe, Peter Gerald, Kate Graham and Steven Webb. THE THING ABOUT MEN will play for a strictly limited run of only four weeks at The Landor Theatre; from the writers of the long running Off Broadway show, I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change and the producers/director responsible for the award winning production of The Hired Man at The Landor last August.
